  • Publication number: 20240390638
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments for catheters and catheter liners including grooves on the inner surface of the liner. The grooves may improve the flexibility of the catheter while retaining a good stiffness profile. Also disclosed are methods for introducing the grooves on the inner surface of the liner.

  • Publication number: 20240390639
Abstract: Disclosed are intravascular devices for accommodating large-bore catheters while maintaining good flexibility of the device. The intravascular device includes a plurality of hypotubes arranged in a nested configuration. The intravascular device provides a relatively large overall size while minimizing increases in lateral bending stiffness.

  • Publication number: 20240342444
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to guidewire devices having shapeable tips and increased flexibility. In one embodiment, a guidewire device includes a core having a proximal section and a distal section. The distal section includes a terminal section proximally adjacent to a distal end of the core, wherein the length of the terminal section is greater than the distance between a proximal end and a distal end of the terminal section. The terminal section may be curved or bent to form creases along distinct lines.

  • Publication number: 20240216653
Abstract: Disclosed are intravascular devices comprising a core having a proximal and distal section and a tube wherein the distal section of the core passes into and is encompassed by the tube. The core includes a stepped shoulder located at the junction of the proximal and distal sections of the core. The proximal end of the tube is coupled to the stepped shoulder beneficially increasing torque transmission along the tube to the distal end of the intravascular device while maintaining effective flexibility of the device.

  • Publication number: 20240207577
Abstract: Disclosed are intravascular devices for navigating tortuous vascular environments like the human brain. The disclosed guidewire includes a core wire, a first tube within which the distal section of the core is inserted, and a second tube within which the proximal section of the core is inserted. The first and second tubes have a substantially similar outer diameter such that the guidewire has a uniform outer diameter over its complete length for effective catheter tracking over the guidewire.

  • Publication number: 20220105318
Abstract: This disclosure describes microfabricated core wires configured for use in an intravascular device such as a guidewire or microcatheter. A microfabricated core wire includes a plurality of disks spaced apart from one another along a length of the distal section and a plurality of longitudinally extending ribbons interposed between the disks, each ribbon extending between and connecting a pair of adjacent disks. Various arrangements of disks and ribbons may be provided to control stiffness across a length of the core wire, particularly at or near the distal tip of the core wire.
