    Abstract: A polymeric formulation, and more specifically, a toothpaste formulation, is disclosed containing a highly carboxylated polymer or copolymer derived from one or more unsaturated carboxylic acids in combination with a calcium carbonate abrasive, a galactomannan, and traditional filler materials. The formulation is especially useful where sources of multivalent cations would otherwise cause phase separation and instability of the toothpaste.
