Patent number: 9038086Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a system, method, or computer program product for providing an information technology build service for building a platform in response to a service request. The invention receives a service request for the platform build from a requester, receives a plurality of platform parameters from the requester, determines whether the service request requires one or more physical machines or one or more virtual machines, and if the service request requires one or more virtual machines, initiates build of the one or more virtual machines. The invention also provisions physical and virtual storage based on received parameters, provisions physical and virtual processing power based on received parameters, and manages power of resources during the build, the managing comprising managing power ups, power downs, standbys, idles and reboots of one or more physical components being used for the build.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2012Date of Patent: May 19, 2015Assignee: Bank of America CorporationInventors: Prentice O. Dees, Jr., Christopher Mills, Timothy Golden, William Rouse, Thomas H. Davies, John Becsi, Darren Sanders, Ron Engle, Christopher G. Patent number: 9038068Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a system, method, or computer program product for providing capacity reclamation of resources allocated to one or more virtual machines. The invention monitors resource usage of the one or more virtual machines over a predetermined period of time, compares resource usage to resource allocation; and, based on the comparison of the resource usage to the resource allocation, adjusts resource allocation based on the monitored resource usage. Comparing the resource usage may include comparing resource usage to a target upper threshold percentage of allocated resources, and if the resource usage exceeds the target upper threshold, increasing the allocated resources by a predetermined amount and comparing resource usage to a target lower threshold percentage of allocated resources, and if the resource usage is less than the target lower threshold, decreasing the allocated resources by a predetermined amount.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2012Date of Patent: May 19, 2015Assignee: Bank of America CorporationInventors: Ronald Engle, Prentice O. Publication number: 20070062686Abstract: Methods and apparatus provides an improved shunt nozzle which is part of an alternative pathway for a slurry to by-pass an obstruction such as a sand bridge during gravel packing. The nozzle includes a hardened insert that lines a surface of an aperture in a shunt. A jacket secured to the shunt receives the insert, which is trapped from movement relative to the jacket.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 20, 2006Publication date: March 22, 2007Inventors: William Rouse, James Hardin, Pete Olenick, John Setterberg

Patent number: 5033874Abstract: Bearings of the pillow block type are protected by a cover which extends over the pillow block and is shaped to substantially follow the contour of the pillow block and includes a slit from a lower edge of the device to an opening for allowing the shaft to pass into the cover to the opening. The cover is formed from polypropylene which is highly flexible and resistant to impact damage. Grease can be inserted into a recess or clearance between the end face of the bearing and the inside surface of the cover. In an alternative arrangement, the cover can be formed in two parts to be clamped on respective sides of plates supporting the bearing. Again there is provided a slit and a central opening to be inserted over the shaft.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 1990Date of Patent: July 23, 1991Assignee: William W. YarntonInventor: William Rouse
