  • Patent number: 11931077
Abstract: A bone fastener comprises a first member defining an implant cavity and a plurality of adjacent grooves. A first band is configured for disposal within the grooves. A second band is configured for disposal within the grooves. A second member is configured to penetrate tissue and includes a head engageable with the first band to provisionally connect the members. The second band is moveable for disposal adjacent the first band to fix connection of the members. Implants, systems, instruments and methods are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4286566
Abstract: An engine system includes a compression ignition engine having an exhaust gas recirculation system incorporating a spindle mounting a valve. A fuel pump having a fuel lever supplies fuel to the engine and the spindle is connected to a control means which reduces the amount of exhaust gas recirculated as the fuel supply to the engine is increased. The control means is slow acting and in order to reduce the amount of exhaust gas recirculated in the event of a rapid movement of the control lever in a direction to increase the fuel, a linkage is provided connecting the control lever to the spindle. The linkage incorporates a piston cylinder combination which transmits rapid movement of the control lever to the spindle only when the control lever is moved to effect an increase in fuel.

  • Patent number: 4196708
Abstract: An engine system includes a valve operable to permit exhaust gas to flow from the exhaust manifold to the air inlet manifold of an engine for the purpose of reducing the noxious gas content of the exhaust. The setting of the valve is dependent upon the amount of fuel supplied to the engine by the pump. A hydraulic signal is generated and this is derived from a supply pump by way of a fixed orifice this pressure being applied to a control valve which regulates the pressure applied to an actuator including a spring loaded piston. A throttle which controls the amount of fuel delivered by the injection pump also forms a further adjustable orifice downstream of the orifice whereby the pressure downstream of the orifice is dependent upon the amount of fuel supplied to the engine.

  • Patent number: 4169448
Abstract: An air heating system for a compression ignition engine comprises a combustion chamber which includes a burner through which fuel is supplied to the combustion chamber. A two stage fuel pump is provided to supply fuel to the burner with the output of the second stage being connected to the burner and the input of the second stage being connected to the output of the first stage. Valve means is provided to ensure that there is substantially no pressure drop across the second stage of the pump and control means is provided to control the speed of operation of the pump so that the rate of fuel delivery to the combustion chamber can be closely controlled.
