  • Patent number: 10821271
Abstract: A balloon catheter for treating a condition of a vessel near a bifurcation comprises a shaft including a proximal and distal end, and a side surface, at least one guide wire lumen extending longitudinally, a distal port extending from the guide wire lumen through the distal end, a side port extending transversely from the guide wire lumen through the side surface, and a balloon mounted on the shaft. The balloon comprises a first end sealed to the shaft proximally of the side port, a second end sealed to the shaft distally of the side port and an aperture aligned with the side port. A portion of the balloon surrounding the aperture is sealed to the shaft around the side port. The balloon may be guided to the bifurcation on a first and a second guide wires pre-positioned in main and in side branch vessel, respectively.

  • Patent number: 7323009
Abstract: A balloon catheter for use in treating a condition of a vessel occurring near a bifurcation defined by the intersection of a main vessel with a side branch vessel comprises a shaft which comprises a proximal end, a distal end, a longitudinal passageway extending between the proximal and distal ends, and a transverse hole extending from the passageway. The balloon catheter also comprises a balloon head which is mounted on the shaft and which comprises an elongated balloon portion having a generally uniform outer diameter surface, an intermediate portion secured to the shaft proximate the hole, a port formed in the intermediate portion in alignment with the hole, and a portal extending between the outer diameter surface and the intermediate portion.

  • Patent number: 6761734
Abstract: A segmented balloon catheter for use in treating a condition of a blood vessel occurring near a bifurcation comprises a shaft which includes a proximal end, a distal end and a longitudinal passageway that extends therethrough from the proximal end to the distal end. A first balloon portion is mounted on the shaft adjacent the distal end, and a second balloon portion is mounted on the shaft adjacent the first balloon portion. The shaft also comprises a transverse port which extends between the longitudinal passageway and the exterior of the segmented balloon catheter from between the first and second balloon portions.

  • Patent number: 5976154
Abstract: A method and apparatus for installing, removing or exchanging catheters into and out of a medical patient's body, including the vascular system, incorporates a slotted guide track for guiding and controlling sliding movement of a catheter while maintaining the relative position of a guidewire. The guide track includes an elongated base having a resilient, cushion-like body, adapted to physically conform to the outer shape of a guidewire and catheter to accommodate the passing through of a catheter and related structures. The guide track includes a clamp at one end for securing a guidewire end, and another clamp at the other end for securing the track to a guide catheter.
