  • Publication number: 20070243214
Abstract: Disclosed is a panel of biomarkers associated with angiogenesis, and the use of such biomarkers (genes, proteins, homologues and analogs thereof) to regulate angiogenesis. Methods for identifying compounds useful for regulating angiogenesis and conditions related thereto are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20060094054
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and test kit to diagnose tumorigenicity or the presence of tumor cells in a patient by detecting the level of FBLN-3 expression or biological activity in the patient. Also disclosed are methods to identify regulators of tumor cell growth, motility and/or invasion, by identifying regulators of FBLN-3 expression or activity. Methods to identify anti-angiogenic and pro-angiogenic agents are also described, wherein such factors regulate the expression and/or activity of FBLN-3. Finally, the present invention relates to therapeutic methods and reagents for the inhibition of tumor growth and development and/or for the inhibition or promotion of angiogenesis, using FBLN-3, homologues and analogs thereof, and agents that modulate the expression and/or activity of FBLN-3.

  • Publication number: 20050267021
Abstract: Disclosed are Cystatin C (CysC) homologues, including CystC homologues that act as antagonists or inhibitors of transforming growth factor-? (TGF-?). Also disclosed are methods to identify CystC homologues that are antagonists or inhibitors of TGF-? and compositions and therapeutic methods using CystC and homologues thereof to regulate the activity of TGF-?, and TGF-?-mediated tumor malignancy and invasion and other TGF-?-mediated fibrotic or proliferative conditions and diseases.
