  • Publication number: 20090014443
Abstract: A microwavable cooking container assembly has a bottom wall and a top rim spaced apart by a sidewalls. The container also has a notch, a gate with a steam aperture and a projection for mating within the notch. A film cover is attached to the top rim over the gate and has a fill aperture in communication with the container. The gate is moveable between a blocking position and a fill position for passing cooking ingredients through the fill aperture past the gate into the container. In another embodiment, a lid mates with the top rim and has a handle for gripping and a sealing rib for mating with the ledge seat on the top rim. The lid has a steam aperture for controllably releasing stem to create a pressure cooking environment within the container for cooking food in a microwave.

  • Publication number: 20070278221
Abstract: The present invention is a microwavable pressure cooking container assembly and method using a flexible film vessel capable of holding a quantity of liquid and a food. A sealing device is at an upper portion of the vessel for sealing the vessel. An aperture is formed in an upper portion of the vessel which restricts release of steam from the vessel, so as to cause an increase in pressure and heat within the vessel to a level of pressure and heat which does not adversely affect the flexible film vessel, yet increases speed of cooking the food.

  • Publication number: 20060081625
Abstract: Food packaging includes a top wall of film plastic material which in turn includes top and bottom wall portions creating a pocket therebetween. The pocket bottom wall portion has feed openings communicating with the food chamber. The top wall portion includes a centrally disposed feed opening registering with a vent opening in the bottom wall portion with the bottom wall feed openings being remotely located and adapted to be sealed during cooking by pressure within the food chamber pressing the bottom wall portion against the top wall portion.

  • Patent number: 6405482
Abstract: A growing system includes an outer pot of net material and an inner pot holding water and nutrients fed through a tube extending to the top of the outer pot. Peat growing medium is provided in both pots including the space between the inner and outer pots. An outer watering saucer may be provided for plant growth in a first warm climate while a stabilizing pot may be used in a second climate for securing the outer pot to a substrate of ground soil. The plant roots grow into both the inner and outer pots and through the bottom wall of the outer pot into the ground soil. Additional plants may be positioned to grow through the side openings in the outer pot. The heat growing medium may be dehydrated to 15% of its normal moisture for transport between the first climate to a second climate with hydration occurring at the second climate.

  • Patent number: 4528774
Abstract: An organic growing medium for plants or seeds placed in standing water having substantially all the major and minor fertilizer elements is exposed to humid air over its substantial outer side surface thereby making air available to plant roots. The growing medium may be in a pot having porous sidewalls which allows air to be admitted into the pot or air openings may be formed in the pot sidewalls. The pot may further sit in a container wherein an air passageway is formed between the container and the pot to provide humid air around the growing medium. Alternately, the growing medium may be spaced from the container wall having air openings and an air chamber is formed between the growing medium and the container wall.

  • Patent number: 4397114
Abstract: A horizontal water reservoir pipe includes plant support riser pipes spaced along its length, each of which contain a growing medium in a mesh tube, extending into the water in the water pipe. The riser pipes are corrugated and provide air circulation from the atmosphere along the corrugations and between the mesh tube and the riser pipe. The growing medium may be Hasselfors peat or any other medium which has large and small pores with enough pores of large enough size to limit the saturation capillary fringe from the water table to a small fraction of the height of the growing medium and enough pores of small enough size to hold sufficient moisture in the root zone to provide abundant water for seed and plant growth. The growing medium is in communication with the atmosphere to provide for continuous entry of oxygen and escape of carbon dioxide to provide abundant oxygen for seed and plant growth.

Alternatively, the growing medium may be spaced from the container wall having air openings and an air chamber is formed between the growing medium and the container wall. A plant or seed may be placed in a growing medium centrally located of alternate air chambers and growing mediums formed by pairs of spaced apart walls having air openings therein allowing air to communicate to the growing medium and to allow the plant roots to grow from one growing medium into an air chamber and thence into the next growing medium.

  • Patent number: 4117685
Abstract: A material having high water absorption and retention capacity is placed in a water impermeable trench beneath a top coversoil and water is supplied to the material for being transmitted by capillary action to the top soil. The material may be vitera. The roots of plants having varying water requirements will grow to whatever depth is appropriate for their needs.

  • Patent number: 3961444
Abstract: Compressed peat moss is placed in a container and a seed tape is provided on top of the peat moss or individual seeds may be secured thereto by a layer of water soluble wax. The container may be sufficiently large enough to allow expansion of the peat moss when moisture is applied in preparation for use or the container may be comprised of telescopically interconnected sections which expand as the peat moss expands or tin foil capable of expanding with the peat moss. The application of water dissolves the wax and washes it away leaving the seeds to grow in the activated peat moss. The unused portion of the container above the compressed peat moss may be filled with edible foods such as candy or cheese which are removed prior to applying the water to the peat moss. A terrarium transparent dome may cover the container containing the peat moss seeds and edible food products. A tray for the food products on the peat moss may be removed and used as a watering tray.
