Abstract: A method may include receiving, via a computing system, a request to install an application for execution via an industrial computing device within an industrial system. The method may also include retrieving an image file associated with the application from a storage component, retrieving a profile file associated with the application form the storage component, and presenting one or more visualizations based on the profile file. The one or more visualizations may include one or more input fields that may receive user input for defining one or more parameters associated with the application. The method may also include receiving the one or more parameters via the one or more input fields and sending the image file and the one or more parameters to the industrial computing device. The industrial computing device may install the application and adjust one or more settings of the application based on the parameters.

Abstract: A method may include receiving, via a computing device, a request to install an application configured to interact with an industrial device within an industrial system. The computing device may be communicatively coupled to the industrial device via a data backplane, and the request may include application data associated with one or more expected communications between the application and the industrial device. The method may also involve comparing, via the computing device, one or more application operations associated with the application with one or more rules associated with the data backplane, retrieving an application image file configured to install the application based on a comparison between the one or more application operations and the one or more rules, and installing the application based on the application image file.
