    Abstract: An interconnection module provides a normal-through connection for an electrical signal. The interconnection module includes a housing defining an input and an output, a conductor disposed within the housing provides a signal path between the input and the output, and a removable monitor module mated to the housing. The monitor module includes a monitor port and an active circuit for sensing the electrical signal and for providing to the monitor port a monitor signal indicative of the electrical signal. The active circuit is disposed electrically in parallel to the signal path and exhibits an impedance to the signal path that is sufficiently high so that the electrical signal being monitored is not disturbed by the active circuit. The monitor circuit is hot-swappable so that removal or installation of the monitor module from the housing during transmission of the electrical signal through the signal path will not disturb the electrical signal.

The shielding member forms a number of deflecting members (212) for securing to a panel (3) and a number of anti-stress members for preventing the deflecting members from excessive deformation.

    Abstract: A connector assembly includes a header connector (10, 110) and a cable end connector (50) engageable with the header connector. The header connector includes an insulative housing (12, 112) defining a number of passageways (20, 120) and a number of conductive contacts (14, 114) each having a mating portion (24, 124) received in corresponding passageways and a tail portion (26, 126) extending below a bottom surface (16, 116) of the housing. The tail portions extend in a single plane parallel with the bottom surface of the housing such that they are surface mountable onto corresponding solder pads on the substrate. The housing provides a pair of wedgy blocks (30, 130) on opposite side surface (31, 131) thereof. The cable end connector includes a housing (52) providing a pair of latches (60) on opposite side surfaces (61) thereof. The latches engage with the wedgy blocks when the cable end connector completely mates with the header connector to avoiding disengagement of the connectors.

    Abstract: A preferred embodiment of a mezzanine-type electrical connector comprises a first connector half for mounting on a first circuit substrate. The first connector half comprises a first connector body and a first electrically-conductive member mounted in the first connector body for conducting electrical power from a plurality of locations on the first circuit substrate. A preferred embodiment also comprises a second connector half for mounting on a second circuit substrate and mating with the first connector half. The second connector half comprises a second connector body and a second electrically-conductive member mounted in the second connector body for conducting electrical power to a plurality of locations on the second circuit substrate. The second power contact strip contacts the first power contact strip when the first and second connector halves are mated.
