  • Publication number: 20240124554
Abstract: The present relates to VEGF traps and VEGF mini-traps that include VEGF receptor Ig-like domains, fused to a multimerizing component, which bind to VEGF and block its interaction with the VEGF receptor. Such molecules are useful for treating angiogenic eye disorders (e.g., age-related macular degeneration), cancer and for other undesired angiogenesis.

  • Publication number: 20240102706
Abstract: A Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system that is configured to receive a refrigerant from a condenser at a fixed expansion device and a variable expansion device. The system is further configured to output a first portion of the refrigerant to a first downstream HVAC component at a fixed flow rate using the fixed expansion device. The system is further configured to apply a first force to a pin of the variable expansion device based on a sensed temperature. The system is further configured to apply a second force to a valve of the variable expansion device via the force applied to the pin and to output a second portion of the refrigerant to a second downstream HVAC component at a variable flow rate based on the second force using the valve of the variable expansion device.

  • Patent number: 10220605
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for curing composite products. One exemplary embodiment is an edge breather for composite manufacturing. The edge breather is formed of a rigid material and includes an elongated body having a top open structure with a cross section that defines an arch. The edge breather also includes hollow passageways within the elongated body that are underneath the top structure and travel along a length of the elongated body. The top open structure defines multiple openings forming an open mesh through which air may enter.

  • Patent number: 10040256
Abstract: A composite part charge having an internal cavity is placed on a tool and covered by a vacuum bag for autoclave curing. A bladder is placed in the cavity to react autoclave pressure on the charge. The bladder is coupled with a flexible fluid reservoir located beneath the vacuum bag. The bladder is pressurized by autoclave pressure applied through the vacuum bag to the flexible fluid reservoir.

  • Patent number: 5120228
Abstract: An intrinsic perceptual motor training device comprising a data recording apparatus for recording when a patients body moves out of a test area. The data recording apparatus includes a pulse generator that generates a signal pulse whenever a beam of light associated with a test area defining elements is interrupted. The pulse generator is coupled to a strip chart to mark a real time strip chart whenever one of the test area defining beams is interrupted. The pulse generator can also be connected to a computer and the signal pulse used in conjunction with data analysis software.

  • Patent number: 4906193
Abstract: A perceptual motor training device uses a non-tactile method of training a patient who has suffered some interruption of his neurological functions to recognize the spatial position and orientation of his body and/or the parts thereof. The device includes an alarm that is activated when a portion of the patient's body moves out of a predetermined test area. The alarm alerts the patient without touching the patient so the patient is forced to use his own internal systems to determine the location and orientation of his body and the parts thereof. The test area is defined by beams and/or fields and can include test areas within the overall test area. The device can also be used in conjunction with the training of gross motor developmental sequences as well.

  • Patent number: 4257293
Abstract: A machine for trimming the edges of metal containers in which a plurality of upstanding, vertically disposed cams are positioned upon a table. A plurality of sliding cutters are provided equal in number to the cams. The cams are driven up and down by a vertically reciprocating platen below the table by means of a power source, a crank shaft and an arm coupling the crank shaft and platen. Various cam face shapes and cam followers are disclosed to provide the cutting sequence of the cutters.
