  • Patent number: 9947004
Abstract: Computer implemented systems and methods, including methods of transacting with wireless clients. Embodiments include, in various combinations, a client ID module, a scanning module configured to scan, or an act of scanning, a wireless channel set at a business locale for wireless signals of a registered customer set, or a combination thereof. Some embodiments identify out of the wireless signals certain wireless packets of a client of the registered customer set, calculate a first client signal strength of the first wireless packets, or both. In certain embodiments, a localization module calculates or is configured to calculate whether the first client is at a transaction area of the business locale, for example, based on the first client signal strength, for instance, without reliance on near field communication technology. Some embodiments include a training module or act, a point of service module or act, or both.

  • Patent number: 9267997
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining the damage level of a battery are provided. An exemplary method includes measuring a terminal voltage of the battery over time while discharging the battery at a predetermined current; calculating a slope of a natural logarithm of a rate of change of a first voltage of the battery over time based on the terminal voltage of the battery; and comparing the calculated slope to a threshold slope that is based on measurements of a plurality of similar batteries with known conditions. The first voltage of the battery may correspond to a voltage across an RC component of an equivalent circuit model for the battery.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 25, 2012
Date of Patent: February 23, 2016
    Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft

  • Publication number: 20060047565
Abstract: The present invention provides decomposing metrics. A result is decomposed into a expression and at least one datum. The decomposed expression and at least one datum is rendered on a display means. This enables and end user to determine what calculations and data is used to calculate metrics, thereby giving the viewer more useful information.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 26, 2004
    Publication date: March 2, 2006
    Applicant: International Business Machines Corporation
Inventors: Michael Gilfix, David Greene, Vani Prasad, Daniel Roth, William Salinas, William Streit
  • Publication number: 20060036455
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for dynamically reconfiguring views for business information dashboards. A dashboard is connected to an intelligent backend, which is also connected to the business information sources. A user can supply the intelligent backend with priority data about which information is to be displayed. The intelligent backend processes the data from the business sources, and determines the views to be shown by the dashboard.

  • Publication number: 20060036475
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program are provided to better analyze business activities. Metrics are utilized to mine information gathered on a businesses operations. At times of user labeled events, snap shots of the state of the business can be taken. Statistical analyses are performed on the data corresponding to the state of the business to determine if correlations between user labeled events and business activities. Therefore, a business can become more competitive by determining the behaviors that both help and hurt business operations.

  • Publication number: 20060036595
Abstract: The present invention provides for sharing information among a plurality of dashboards. Employment of at least one metric of a first dashboard is monitored. An indicia of the monitored metric is transmitted. The indicia of the monitored metric is received. An indicia associated with the monitored metric is displayed on a second dashboard, thereby enabling a user of the second dashboard to know what metrics a user of the first dashboard are employing.
