  • Publication number: 20230074072
Abstract: Grain bin ducting systems are disclosed that more evenly disperse air through a grain bin while also preventing moisture from building up on the top and sides of a grain bin, which can lead to undesirable moisture levels for parts of the grain bin or even ruin grain. Airflow resistance may be reduced in a grain bin by having the air travel in a horizontal direction through the grain bin instead of a vertical direction. Normally, the radius of the grain bin is substantially less than the height of the grain bin, so the resistance to airflow is substantially lower than in typical grain bin ducting systems.

  • Publication number: 20230011178
Abstract: Potentially off-grid grain conditioners that can be operably connected to an aeration grain bin or silo to blow heated air through the crop to dry the crop or to blow ambient temperature air through the crop to cool it are disclosed. A fan is powered by a motor that may be mounted inside the air stream to allow the heat from the motor to be collected and forced into the airstream that is blown into the grain bin. The engine exhaust may be routed through an air exchanger to remove heat from the exhaust and direct heat into the grain bin, or the exhaust may be put into the atmosphere without capturing any of the heat, which allows the fan to operate in a cooling mode. The motor may be mounted inline or mounted to the side for a centrifugal aeration fan.

  • Patent number: 8843283
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling a height of an agricultural equipment component is provided. An average crop height is determined. In one embodiment, the agricultural equipment component is controlled to maintain a predetermined distance from a current top of crop level. If a current top of crop level cannot be determined, a virtual top of crop level is calculated using the average crop height value. The agricultural equipment component is controlled to maintain a predetermined distance from the virtual top of crop level. In another embodiment, the agricultural equipment component is controlled to maintain a predetermined distance from current ground level. If a current ground level cannot be determined, a virtual ground level is calculated using the average crop height value. The agricultural equipment component is controlled to maintain a predetermined distance from said virtual ground level. An ultrasonic sensor is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6834223
Abstract: A roll control system is provided for controlling a roll position of a boom rotatably coupled to a support frame, the boom comprising left and right wing sections (where the roll of the boom refers to a clockwise or counterclockwise rotation of said boom relative to the support frame). A roll control mechanism is configured for rotating the boom relative to the support frame in response to a roll control signal. Wing section position measuring apparatus is configured for producing a right wing signal correlatable to a distance between the right wing section and a rightwing reference position and a left wing signal correlatable to a distance between the left wing section and a left wing reference position. Boom roll position measuring apparatus is configured for producing a boom roll signal correlatable to a roll position of the boom relative to a boom roll reference position.
