  • Patent number: 9624707
Abstract: A heated sliding window assembly includes at least one fixed window. A rail is attached to the fixed window. A sliding window is moveable along the rail between open and closed positions. The sliding window includes a heater grid and an electrical contact. A conductive member is attached to the at least one fixed window. • Patent number: 8474186
Abstract: A slider window assembly for a motor vehicle includes a peripheral frame, at least one fixed panel located within the frame and adjacent an opening and a slider panel located within the frame and movable between a closed position wherein the slider panel covers the opening and an open position wherein the slider panel does not entirely close the opening. A drive assembly is operably connected to the slider panel to selectively move the slider panel between the closed and open positions. The drive assembly includes a rack secured to the slider panel, an electric motor secured to a fixed position on the slider window assembly, and a gear operably connected to the motor and operably engaging the rack so that operation of the motor in opposite directions moves the slider panel in opposite directions between the closed and open positions.

  • Patent number: 7765738
Abstract: A sliding window assembly has at least one sliding pane mounted for travel along a travel path between a closed position in a first plane and an open position in an offset second plane substantially parallel to the first plane. The window assembly has travel guide apparatus for guiding its movement along the travel path between the open and closed positions. The travel guide apparatus includes a track defining an elongate slot corresponding to the travel path, a fixed guide surface having a fixed position relative to the track, e.g., a pivot pin, and components cooperatively operative as a cam and slide movement for guiding travel of the sliding pane between its open and closed positions. Typically, for generally rectilinear sliding panes, a track, guide surface and cam and slide movement are provided for each corner of the sliding pane.

  • Patent number: 7568312
Abstract: A window assembly of a motor vehicle includes a pair of spaced-apart fixed window panes forming an opening therebetween, vertically spaced-apart upper and lower tracks, a sliding window pane having opposed upper and lower edges that move along the upper and lower tracks, and a camming mechanism including a plurality of cams. The cams are pivotably secured to the sliding window pane near corners of the sliding window pane. An actuator is operatively connected to the cams for selectively and simultaneously pivoting the cams. Simultaneously pivoting the cams forcibly moves the sliding window pane between a closed position wherein an outside surface of the sliding window pane is in a first plane substantially flush with an outer surface of the fixed window panes and an open position wherein the outside surface of the sliding window pane is in a second plane substantially parallel to and offset from the first plane.

  • Publication number: 20080042859
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a ventilation control device having a portable housing capable of being selectively positioned in various locations in a space such as a room, vehicle compartment or any other area where people or animals may be located. The ventilation control device has a gas detection portion within the portable housing capable of sensing the presence of a specified gas or gasses. A transmitter is also located within the portable housing and operably engaged to the gas detection portion for transmitting a ventilation signal. A power source is located within said portable housing for energizing said transmitter. The power source can be an independent power source such as a battery or a connector such as plug for connecting to power outside of the portable housing or both. A connection portion is located on the portable housing for removably connecting the portable housing at a user specified location.

  • Patent number: 6748638
Abstract: A window alignment device for use in a door having a recess and a peripheral edge and a window regulator is provided. A window panel is adjacent to the window regulator. The panel has a peripheral edge and a portion adapted to conform to the shape of the door and disposed in the recess of the door. Additionally, a locator member is adjacent to the peripheral edge; the locator member is disposed between the door and the window panel. When the panel is fixedly fastened to the regulator, the locator member is removed to form a predetermined gap between the edge of the window panel and the corresponding seal in the door or the body.

  • Patent number: 6223470
Abstract: A dropglass window module having a sliding pane between a first fixed pane and a second fixed pane, and a skeletal framework comprising left and right division bars, a header and a beltline support where the header and beltline support are each connected to the division bars. The skeletal framework and the fixed panes are bonded together by a plastic encapsulation frame which is preferably injection molded. The fixed panes are positioned entirely within the circumference of the frame. The division bars cooperate with top and bottom segments of the frame to define a central opening, and the sliding pane is movable by a motor between a full open position and a closed position where the sliding pane closes the central opening. In at least some preferred embodiments the beltline support is entirely encapsulated by the plastic frame.

  • Patent number: 5192035
Abstract: A vehicle seat belt retractor has a manual cinch mechanism. The retractor includes a spool on which belt webbing is wound. It also includes a metal pawl which is movable into a locking position in engagement with a spool locking ratchet wheel to block the spool against rotation in the belt withdrawal direction. A pawl actuator is movable between a first position and a second position to move the pawl into its locking position. A manually movable member such as a push button can move the pawl actuator into its second position and thereby move the metal pawl into its locking position. When the pawl actuator has been moved into its second position by the manually movable member, an overcenter spring acts to keep the pawl actuator in its second position, holding the metal pawl in its locking position. The overcenter spring can act on the pawl only through the pawl actuator.
