  • Patent number: 11911651
Abstract: Embodiments of the presently described device, system and method support upper extremity therapy through a control device. In various embodiments, the control device is provided as a central hub with atomic elements extending outwardly thereof, and the control device can incorporate a movement interpretation circuit, a touch detection circuit and/or one or more sensory transducers. In various embodiments, the control device is interoperable with a valence, an external computing device and a display device. Embodiments of the external computing device are operable to render a graphical depiction of simulated objects in a virtual world upon receiving a transmission of sensed human grasping of one or more atomic elements.

  • Publication number: 20230381053
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include a walker equipped with one or more sensors, an onboard controller, powered wheels and associated motor controllers. The walker can sense its distance from the user and activate the powered wheels when commanded by the controller. The controller can execute programming including an automatic feedback control algorithm that regulates the distance between the walker frame and the user. In this manner, the walker automatically follows the user, keeping the user from having to expend energy to pull the walker along. The walker can then be utilized by the user solely for balance and support.

  • Patent number: 11696704
Abstract: Embodiments of the presently described device, system and method support upper extremity (UE) therapy through tracking the human hand. The system can include a hand-wearable sensor mounting system with hand-wearable components and a movement interpretation circuit. The device can include a hand-wearable component comprising a hook, and a sensing transducer comprising a clip, wherein the clip is detachably securable to the hook. In embodiments, one or more sensing transducers are translationally and rotationally restricted when secured to the hand-wearable components.

  • Publication number: 20230147091
Abstract: Embodiments of a controlled odor emission system and device include an odor presentation port tube and an odor tray securely retained against a platform, a valve housing securable to the platform adjacent the tray, a valve secured within the valve housing and an actuator for moving the valve. By controlling movement of the valve, precise amounts of an odor can be dispensed under programmatic control for training animals. Further, a system incorporating a central control unit and a reward dispenser in communication with an odor emission device to facilitate animal training.

  • Patent number: 11624594
Abstract: A system, device and method provide a glide kit that can attach to a conventional mortar round to create a glide-enabled round. The glide-enabled round can fit within a mortar tube. When the munition exits the mortar tube, it sequentially deploys wings and canards to initiate the glide maneuver and increase the mortar range. A state estimator subsystem can be employed with a canard control subsystem to actively guide the mortar to a fixed location. The combination of the estimator and canard control subsystems improves the tracking precision of the mortar round.

  • Patent number: 9704369
Abstract: A system, a method and an apparatus for autonomous monitoring, detecting and tracking of at least one of movement and orientation of a body or portion of a body. The apparatus comprises a device configured to monitor the translational movement and/or rotational movement of the body; and an altimeter including at least one pair of opposed high sensitivity sensors configured to measure changes in height of the body. An alert condition is determined based on the translational and/or rotational movement of the body and changes in height of the body or portion of the body. The alert condition may comprise a hard fall event, a soft fall event, a susceptibility to a fall, or a near fall event.
