  • Patent number: 5019473
Abstract: An electrophotographic recording element having a layer comprising a photoconductive perylene pigment, as a charge generation material, that is sufficiently finely and uniformly dispersed in a polymeric binder to provide the element with excellent electrophotographic speed. The perylene pigments are perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic acid imide derivatives.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 23, 1990
Date of Patent: May 28, 1991
    Assignee: Eastman Kodak Company
Inventors: Khe C. Nguyen, William T. Gruenbaum
  • Patent number: 4968571
Abstract: An electrophotographic recording element comprising a combination of photoconductive perylene materials that are dispersed in a binder to form layers having excellent photosensitivity and resistance to abrasion. The materials are perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic acid imide derivatives that contain a phenethyl radical bonded to a 3,4-dicarboximide nitrogen atom.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: November 6, 1990
    Assignee: Eastman Kodak Company
Inventors: William T. Gruenbaum, Khe C. Nguyen, Jeanne E. Kaeding
  • Patent number: 4898797
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of improving the sharpness of multiple copies made from a single imagewise exposure using an electrostatographic film buffer element having an insulating layer in between a conductive layer and a photoconductive layer, where the element is simultaneously charged and imagewise exposed and then uniformly exposed with light to bury the charges. The improvement consists of performing the uniform exposure with light that is absorbed by the photoconductive layer and does not penetrate through the photoconductive layer to the insulating layer.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: February 6, 1990
    Assignee: Eastman Kodak Company
Inventors: William T. Gruenbaum, William Mey, Kelly S. Robinson
