  • Patent number: 7973713
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods that eliminate the need for costly and complex switching networks for routing channelized data between antenna elements and beamformers. In one aspect, a beamforming system comprises a beamformer for each antenna element of an antenna array, in which the beamformers for the different antenna elements are arranged in parallel. The beamforming system also comprises a combiner that combines the outputs of the beamformers into a single beam. In one aspect, the beamformers of antenna elements that do not contribute to a desired beam output zeros to the combiner, which when added to the subbeams of the other beamformers have no affect of the final beam. In another aspect, operations (e.g., multiplication, memory reads) of each beamformer that does not contribute to a desired beam may be turned off to conserve power.

  • Patent number: 7865805
Abstract: A method for detecting and correcting bit errors. The method includes the steps of receiving original data, partitioning the memory storage into a first portion and a second portion, storing the original data in the first portion of the memory buffer, modifying the original data into modified data, storing the modified data in the second portion of the memory buffer, comparing the original data with the modified data, combining the original data and the modified data to create a final data stream, and outputting the final data stream. The method may further include the step of calculating and storing parity data.

  • Patent number: 7590090
Abstract: A system comprises a processor configured to receive incoming data and configured to apply a subchannelizer algorithm to the received data. The subchannelizer algorithm segments the received data into time segmented data samples and distributes the time segmented data samples into a plurality of data streams for transmission across one of a plurality of interfaces to a network. The system further comprises a register generally coupled to the processor for storing each time segmented data sample prior to transmitting the time segmented data sample across the plurality of interfaces, wherein the time segmented data samples are written to the register at a first frequency and the time segmented data samples are read out of the register at a second frequency. The system is further arranged to receive a plurality of outgoing data streams from the network, and recombine the plurality of outgoing data streams for output to a downlink device.

  • Patent number: 6985102
Abstract: A method of deinterleaving parameter descriptor word (PDW) data includes parallel scoring of pulses in an a posteriori search for associating of pulses based on proximity within a multi-parameter problem space. The a posteriori search includes scoring an oldest pulse against all newer pulses, and then scoring a next oldest pulse against all newer pulses. The associating utilizes at least one of a plurality of parallel computation modes, parallel tasks to operate on separate data fields, and multi-threading or multitasking that can implement one of parallel and configuration-overlaid operation, synchronized by events.
