  • Patent number: 5345649
Abstract: A traveling, rail-mounted overhead cleaner for cleaning textile processing machines and adjacent floor areas. The cleaner includes a cleaner chassis, drive means for moving the cleaner along the rail, fan means for generating an air flow, conduit means cooperating with said fan means for applying the air flow to areas to be cleaned, a waste canister cooperating with said conduit means for receiving and retaining accumulated waste therein, an unloading station for unloading waste accumulated by the cleaner. An electrical circuit means is included for controlling the movement of the traveling cleaner around its cleaning circuit and to and from the unloading station. In combination with the above elements is the improvement which includes brake means for applying an external braking force to said fan means for bringing the fan means to a stop at a rapid rate.

  • Patent number: 4159416
Abstract: A calorie counter which is adapted to be constructed in the shape of a wristwatch and which includes a pulse detector for detecting the heart pulses. The calorie counter circuit consists of seven sections; time base, clock, data accumulator, data multiplier, translator, data selector and the display. The heart pulse rate is received, amplified and filtered into uniform shaped waves which are applied to the data accumulator section which totalizes the pulse count and determines the actual pulse rate which is held in a storage latch and updated at one-minute intervals. The actual pulse rate is applied to both the data multiplier section and the binary to BCD decoders. The data multiplier section includes means for presetting the calorie counter to the user's metabolism.

  • Patent number: 4101071
Abstract: A calorie counter which is adapted to be constructed in the shape of a wristwatch and which includes a pulse detector mounted in the band of the watch to detect the heart pulses. The calorie counter circuit is comprised of six sections; the time base, clock, data accumulator, translator, data selector, and the display. The heart pulses are detected by the pulse detector and are supplied to the calorie counter circuit which has been preprogramed for each pulse rate from 40 pulses/minute to 199 pulses/minute. The calorie count for each minute of time represents a total of calorie count for a predetermined length of time. The accumulated information is converted by the driver circuit which converts and processes the binary coded decimal information into drive lines for the display numbers in the display section. A manual control is used to select the desired format of display; i.e., time, calorie/minute, or calories total.
