  • Publication number: 20070245125
Abstract: A controller and resource management system and method with improved security for independently controlling and managing a computer system is provided. Control, management and security protection is provided while functioning: conceptually, logically, functionally, operatively, physically and electrically independent of computer system resources, including processors. All computer system resources, including processors are operatively dependent on the present invention; processors do not execute operating system instructions. Data transferred between the computer system and processors is communicable through the controller and resource management system for improved security. The present invention may include: Buffer memory, BIOS, device drivers, event handler, system security, scheduler, memory manager, I/O controller, configuration manager, independent watchdog timer and networking interfaces.
    Type: Application
    Filed: May 24, 2007
    Publication date: October 18, 2007
    Applicant: BRYTE COMPUTER TECHNOLOGIES, INC.
    Inventor: William Telesco

  • Patent number: 6755573
Abstract: The present invention comprises a full mesh optical backplane with power distribution conductors. The backplane provides a set of power distribution conductors and a plurality of dedicated, optically isolated transmission guides such that each circuit board assembly within a system can directly transmit optically isolated data to any and all other circuit boards using dedicated, individual transmission means within the system and such that each circuit board assembly is provided with power from a centralized source.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 29, 2001
Date of Patent: June 29, 2004
    Inventors: Martin Hoffmann, William Telesco
  • Patent number: 6678439
Abstract: The present invention relates to backplane interconnects for electronic systems, particularly for communications systems, wherein the interconnection capability of the backplane provides for high bandwidth, wavelength division multiplexing. The present invention also provides a means for broadcast transmissions using a single wavelength and parallel bus extension using a plurality of wavelengths. The present invention also provides a means for providing either high bandwidth, wavelength division multiplexing or broadcast transmissions using a single wavelength or parallel bus extension using a plurality of wavelengths either within a given system or between two systems using fiber optic cable or periscope-like mechanisms.

  • Publication number: 20020102062
Abstract: The present invention comprises a full mesh optical interconnect with redundant power distribution conductors. The interconnect in a preferred form of backplane provides a set of optical transmission guides and power distribution conductors such that each circuit board assembly within a system can directly transmit data to any and all other circuit boards within the system and such that each circuit board assembly is provided with power from a centralized source such as the −48v battery subsystem provided by most central switching offices. A modified interconnect in the form of a midplane is disclosed.
