  • Publication number: 20140011625
Abstract: A gear reduction mechanism, particularly for use in an offset final drive unit for vehicular applications, has an input gear meshing directly with the output gear and two additional gear trains between the input and output gears. Three separate load paths therefore exist for the transmission of torque from the input gear to the output gear which means that the face widths of all the gears can be substantially reduced in comparison with a conventional single-mesh arrangement and the overall mechanism can therefore be of reduced width.

  • Publication number: 20130341051
Abstract: A wellhead assembly having an inner tubular insertable into an outer tubular. A packoff is provided on an outer surface of the inner tubular for sealing between the inner and outer tubulars. The packoff includes an energizing ring, a U-shaped seal member, and a nut for retaining the seal member against the energizing ring. The seal member includes legs that are spaced apart by interaction with the energizing ring. The outer tubular has a bore wall that is profiled so that when the inner tubular is inserted into the outer tubular, an outer leg of the seal member is spaced radially outward from the bore wall until the inner tubular is landed in the outer tubular. When the inner tubular member is landed, a portion of the bore wall adjacent the outer leg tapers radially inward into sealing contact with the outer leg of the seal member.

  • Publication number: 20130181176
Abstract: A scissor mechanism comprises a pair of opposed jaws. The opposed jaws are defined at one end of a rigid member. At least one rigid member is pivotably engaged to a base plate. The base plate is capable of being coupled to a mobilization structure that is capable of being rolled on the ground. For example, the mobilization structure may comprise a jack or a bolt that is capable of raising and lowering the base plate. The jaws provide a strong grip on a portion of the shelving either under the influence of a strong biasing mechanism or by using a lever action to force one or more of the jaws closed onto the portion of the shelving. A bump stop may be adjusted to impinge on another portion of the shelving, which may prevent the shelving from tipping or sliding within the pair of jaws.

  • Patent number: 8128334
Abstract: A support assembly provides for a method of mobilization that does not require removal of shelving and restocking of items on gondolas and warehouse pallet racking, even if the gondola or pallet racking is too wide for prior art mobilization methods. The support assembly comprises a pair of tubular members capable of engaging fork-like extensions of a hand truck or the like. The hand truck may have caster wheels for mobilization and may have a lifting mechanism for raising and lowering the support assembly by the fork-like extensions, when tongues extending from the tubular members are aligned and matingly engaged at a middle support and outer supports of the gondola. By using a plurality of such lift assemblies engaged along the length of the gondola or gondola run, a row of gondolas may be lifted and mobilized without removing shelving and restocking items on the shelves, even if the gondola is wide and the items stocked on the shelves of the gondola add substantial weight to the gondola.

  • Patent number: 7970888
Abstract: A method of allocating a priority level in an information flow in a data transmission system including receiving a plurality of data packets and allocating a priority level to each data packet is provided with a controller employing such method. The priority level may be determined in accordance with determining a class of loss of the data packet and a class of service for the data packet. The priority level is also a function of the current load of the information flow. It has been established that the choice for each degree of freedom should preferably be made independently and concurrently. The invention, therefore, provides a method for performing such a composite choice.
