  • Patent number: 7027104
Abstract: In video scratch repair, scratches are treated as additive pedestals which are constant or slowly changing along the scratch. For a given picture, these pedestals are estimated and subtracted from the video input to reveal original picture detail. The pedestal can be estimated by heavily filtering along the direction of the presumed scratch, the output of a prior art scratch detector.

  • Patent number: 7026056
Abstract: A structure for encapsulating and protecting fiber insulation material as well as other materials in multicompartment devices in order to provide unitized material which can be applied to any surface desired for insulation or other purposes. A first sheet of material is formed with pockets or depressions in the sheet which are adapted for receiving the material desired to be unitized and a second sheet placed over the first sheet, and the two sheets are attached together in the areas between the pockets or depressions thus encapsulating the material in the pockets. The material is unitized by placing the material in individual sealed metal foil containers or compartments, then the individual containers of unitized material are attached in matrix form to a continuous sheet, such as positioning the containers in openings in the continuous sheet. The product can be applied to any surface desired for insulation or other purposes. Preferably a multilayer metal foil material is employed in the structures.

  • Patent number: 7028144
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a microprocessor with a cache that has the advantages given by a victim cache without physically having a victim cache is disclosed. In one embodiment, a victim flag may be associated with each way in a set. At eviction time, the way whose victim flag is true may be evicted. However, the victim flag may be reset to false if a superceding request arrives for the cache line in that way. Another cache line in another way may then have its victim flag made true.

  • Patent number: 7027558
Abstract: X-ray therapy EPI artifact reduction and control of imaging is provided. Scanning of images is synchronized with the pulse rate of the x-rays. The scanning period is longer than the pulse rate period, so artifacts are generated within the resulting images. Due to the synchronization, the pulse variation artifacts are aligned across multiple images. The synchronization and resulting alignment of linear artifacts allows for gain correction as a function of lines within the image. Such gain correction reduces or removes non-linearities associated with pulse rate variation.

  • Patent number: 7027502
Abstract: A method for slewing a bandwidth characteristic of a digital filter within a range between a first bandwidth characteristic and a second bandwidth characteristic. The digital filter includes a plurality of cascaded filter sections and each of the sections has respective coefficients. The method establishes a polynomial having an order greater than or equal to two for modeling a changing value of one of the coefficients at the bandwidth characteristics within the range. An index value is determined for identifying a desired bandwidth characteristic within the range. The index value is input into the polynomial to obtain a corresponding coefficient value for the one coefficient. The coefficient value is then loaded into a respective filter section.

  • Patent number: 7026797
Abstract: Switchmode DC—DC power converters using one or more non-Silicon-based switching transistors and a Silicon-based (e.g. CMOS) controller are disclosed. The non-Silicon-based switching transistors may comprise, but are not necessarily limited to, III-V compound semiconductor devices such as gallium arsenide (GaAs) metal-semiconductor field effect transistors (MESFETS) or heterostructure FETs such as high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs). According to an embodiment of the invention, the low figure of merit (FoM), ?FET, of the non-Silicon-based switching transistors allows the converters of the present invention to be employed in envelope tracking amplifier circuits of wireless devices designed for high-bandwidth technologies such as, for example, EDGE and UMTS, thereby improving the efficiency and battery saving capabilities of the wireless devices.
