Abstract: An intra-abdominal liver retraction device and methods of use. The device includes a flexible sling, an anchor and a filament. The sling has a base edge and a pair of side edges tapering toward a leading edge. The sling also includes a stiffener extending across it adjacent the base edge to enable it to be gathered and inserted through a port into the abdomen, whereupon it can be opened. The anchor is configured to be releasably secured to the diaphragm with the base edge adjacent the diaphragm so that the liver can be disposed on the sling. The filament is connected to the sling adjacent the leading edge and configured to be drawn through an aperture in the abdominal wall to lift the sling with the liver thereon upwards.

  • Publication number: 20200304850
Abstract: Techniques, systems, and methods are disclosed to generate messaging to view content on media devices based on predictive factors. Information may be received to trigger one or more predictive factors and then generate a candidate set of offers to view content at a media device based on the information. Based on the one or more predictive factors, confidence values may be determined for each offer in the candidate set of offers. The candidate set of offers may be ranked based on the associated confidence values. Subsequently, presentation of at least one offer of the candidate set of offers may be caused to display in a user interface screen on the media device based on the ranking.

  • Publication number: 20200304754
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed towards reframing videos from one aspect ratio to another aspect ratio while maintaining visibility of regions of interest. A set of regions of interest are determined in frames in a video with a first aspect ratio. The set of regions of interest can be used to estimate an initial camera path. An optimal camera path is determined by leveraging the identified regions of interest using the initial camera path. Sub crops with a second aspect ratio different from the first aspect ratio of the video are identified. The sub crops are placed as designated using the optimal camera path to generate a cropped video with the second aspect ratio.

  • Publication number: 20200299984
Abstract: An inflatable booth for use in detecting dents on an automobile. The inflatable booth generally forms an archway or tunnel and has an exterior surface and an interior surface. Lights are mounted on the exterior surface of the booth. The exterior surface of the booth is transparent or clear at least in the areas where the lights are positioned. The interior surface has a repeating geometric pattern. To detect dents, an automobile is driven into the booth and the lights are turned on. The geometric pattern on the interior surface of the booth is reflected off the surface of the automobile forming a reflected pattern. Dents or mars in the surface of the automobile cause distortions in the reflected pattern, thus making them easy to detect and fix. The booth can be easily inflated, deflated, and transported.

  • Publication number: 20200300615
Abstract: The hybrid measurement system includes an evanescent prism coupling spectroscopy (EPCS) sub-system and a light-scattering polarimetry (LSP) sub-system. The EPCS sub-system includes an EPCS light source optically coupled to an EPCS detector system through an EPCS coupling prism. The LSP sub-system includes an LSP light source optically coupled to an optical compensator, which in turn is optically coupled to a LSP detector system via a LSP coupling prism. A support structure supports the EPCS and LSP coupling prisms to define a coupling prism assembly, which supports the two prisms at a measurement location. Stress measurements made using the EPCS and LSP sub-systems are combined to fully characterize the stress properties of a transparent chemically strengthened substrate. Methods of processing the EPCS and LSP measurements to improve measurement accuracy are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20200304509
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing access to media content by connecting, to a public device, a private device that has installed a mirror-capable application associated with the media content. A media guidance application may receive a communication from a private device, with a private interface application and a public interface application, wherein the communication is a request to access content using the public device. In response, the media guidance application may request, at the public device, the public interface application from the private device. The private device may thus transmit the public interface application with user authorization information to the public device. The private interface application may be configured to mirror the graphical user interface of the public interface application. Accordingly, the user may be able to access content via the public device and mirror the content on the private device, when the private device is within a predetermined proximity to the public device.

  • Publication number: 20200304168
Abstract: The representative embodiments discussed in the present disclosure relate to techniques in which isolation between transmission signals and received signals in a transceiver may be maintained during downlink carrier aggregation. More specifically, in some embodiments, the transceiver may be implemented to include an electrical balance duplexer that isolates a signal component of a signal transmitted via the transceiver from a receiver signal path of the transceiver. The transceiver may also include analog interference cancellation circuitry implemented to isolate a noise component of the signal transmitted via the transceiver from the receiver signal path (e.g., from one or more downlink receiver channels). As such, the transceiver may operate using inter-band, non-contiguous downlink carrier aggregation, intra-band, non-contiguous downlink carrier aggregation, intra-band, contiguous carrier aggregation, and/or the like.

  • Publication number: 20200298009
Abstract: A guiding catheter and method of its use are presented wherein the catheter includes an elongate catheter shaft having a proximal region and a distal region and a length. The shaft defines a distal region and includes a distal tip. The distal region defines an arc of approximately 180 degrees and having a radius of 0.3 inches to 0.6 inches. The distal tip forms a half turn of a left-hand helix having a pitch of 0 inches to 0.4 inches. The unique shape of the distal region allows the distal tip be perpendicularly aligned with the septal wall of the right atrium at the His bundle location when the catheter is advanced therein.
