  • Patent number: 8894752
Abstract: An air dryer includes first and second flow paths. Each flow path includes a check valve that prevents fluid flow into the flow path and an exhaust valve having an open position that permits fluid flow out of the flow path and a shut position that prevents fluid flow out of the flow path. A diverter valve has a first position that provides fluid communication to the first flow path and a second position that provides fluid communication to the second flow path. An interlock operably connected to the diverter valve and the exhaust valves prevents positioning the diverter valve to the first position when the exhaust valve in the first flow path is in the open position and prevents positioning the diverter valve to the second position when the exhaust valve in the second flow path is in the open position.

  • Patent number: 8898380
Abstract: Disclosed is a RAID data checking system. I/O controllers to read data RAID data from the storage devices and transfer that data to virtual memory address ranges. The P+Q checking function receives the data sent to the virtual memory address ranges. However, instead of storing the incoming data, the P+Q checking function updates intermediate values of the P and Q redundant data calculations associated with the incoming data. When all of the strips have been received, the P+Q checking function will have completed the calculation of P and Q redundant data. In this case, after all the strips and the P or Q data have been received, the P+Q checking function will hold zeroes if all the data and the P and Q data was correct and hold non-zero values if there was an error.

  • Patent number: 8898339
Abstract: In conventional systems the CPU is altered after a data frame has been received and the packet stored in a host buffer. This interrupts normal operation of the CPU and applications, which is determined to systems performance. The invention relates to a method of transferring data from a network to a host using a network analyzer card, where a plurality of data frames from a network link is received and a descriptor is added to the frame. The descriptor includes data about the frame; each data frame and its or their attached descriptor is transferred to a host memory.

  • Patent number: 8898416
Abstract: A computer program product and system for managing allocation of storage in a switch utilizing flow control are provided. The switch includes a plurality of ports and an internal storage divided into a plurality of storage units. The computer program product and system provide for monitoring an average number of storage units used by each of the plurality of ports over a predetermined time period, setting a threshold for the average number of storage units used by each of the plurality of ports, and allocating one or more available storage units assigned to a first port to a second port in response to storage allocation management being enabled for the second port and the average number of storage units used by the second port exceeding the threshold for the second port.

  • Patent number: 8894667
Abstract: An endoscopic closure device comprises: a coupling member; a helical needle mounted to the coupling member and carrying a suture; and a plurality of grasping needles, each of said plurality of grasping needles moveable between a storage position and a deployed position. The plurality of grasping needles is configured to be (a) advanced in the storage position into a luminal defect, (b) moved into the deployed position, and (c) then refracted from the luminal defect, thus pulling and drawing tissue surrounding the luminal defect together. Then, upon rotation of the coupling member and the helical needle, the helical needle is driven into and pierces the tissue, carrying the suture through the tissue.

  • Patent number: 8897409
Abstract: Symbol timing acquisition is described for a wireless broadband signal received at a user terminal from a gateway via a satellite. In-phase and quadrature channels of the wireless signal may each be sampled at a rate of one sample per symbol. The samples may be interpolated to generate an early interpolation and a late interpolation for each of the samples. A difference measurement is obtained between the early interpolation and the late interpolation for a set of the samples. A number of the difference measurements may be averaged, and symbol timing may be modified based on the average. This process may be continued on an iterative basis to acquire symbol timing.

  • Patent number: 8897828
Abstract: Power control in a wireless network is disclosed. Transmit power control (TPC) commands may be accumulated by a user equipment (UE). If accumulation is enabled, the UE may receive on a single physical channel an allocation of a scheduled uplink resource and a TPC command. The TPC command may be accumulated with other received TPC commands. A transmit power for an uplink communication based on both the path loss and the accumulated TPC commands may then be calculated by the UE. If accumulation is not enabled, the UE may receive an allocation of a scheduled uplink resource to transmit data at a calculated power level.

  • Patent number: 8898080
Abstract: There is disclosed an electronic trading system and associated methods adapted to automatically match submitted orders on the basis of price, quantity limitations, and lines of credit defined by potential counterparties. Lines of credit are divided into time based tranches relating to the maturity of an instrument to be traded, and a number of schemes are used to manage the tranches in order to improve control and use of remaining credit, which can be replenished manually or automatically. Traders are grouped into desks, and orders submitted by a trader may be matched on behalf of any of several credit centers defined per trader desk. • Patent number: 8896293
Abstract: A system for sensing and controlling concentration of magnetic particles in magnetorheological fluid comprising a wire coil and an AC voltage generator that, when energized, creates a magnetic flux field including a fringing field. When the fringing field extends through the magnetorheological fluid, the impedance in the circuit is proportional to the concentration of magnetic particles. A reference wire coil identical to the sensing wire coil is connected therewith. A demodulator is connected to each of the coils sends an impedance difference signal to a feedback controller connected to controllable dispensing apparatus for adding a calculated amount of replenishing fluid to the magnetorheological fluid. The system may be incorporated into an integrated fluid management module having apparatus for receiving and replenishing spent magnetorheological fluid and a sensor system in accordance with the present invention for use in a magnetorheological finishing system having a carrier wheel.
