  • Patent number: 8309190
Abstract: The invention relates to an article formed by a rotational molding process, having at least one layer formed from a high molecular weight polyamide. The high molecular weight polyamide is one having a molecular weight in the range of 20,000 to 35,000 and also having an inherent viscosity of 1.05-1.60 dL/g. Rotomolded articles having a high molecular weight polyamide layer have better low-temperature impact performance compared to articles formed from lower molecular weight polyamides.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 24, 2010
Date of Patent: November 13, 2012
    Assignee: Arkema Inc.
Inventors: John C. Chen, Barbara Ramfel, Bruce Clay, William Todd Rogers
  • Publication number: 20120223453
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for forming an extruded transparent or translucent polyamide article including melt calendering to improve the physical properties and optical clarity. The polyamide article is a sheet, film, or profile.
    Type: Application
    Filed: May 16, 2012
    Publication date: September 6, 2012
    Applicant: Arkema Inc.
Inventors: Elizabeth E. Grimes, William Todd Rogers, Claire Isabelle Michalowicz
