  • Publication number: 20260124087
Abstract: A siderail includes upper and lower siderail bodies, and a linkage assembly operatively connected thereto for guiding movement of the siderail between a deployed position and a stowed position. In the deployed position, the upper siderail body is disposed above the lower siderail body so that the siderail has a deployed height. In the stowed position, the lower siderail body is disposed at least partly laterally inwardly of the upper siderail body so that the siderail has a smaller stowed height. The linkage assembly includes: a first link pivotably connected to a frame connector; a second link pivotably connected to the first link; a third link pivotably connected to the second link and pivotably connected to the upper siderail body; and a fourth link pivotably connected to the frame connector and to the upper siderail body. The second and fourth links are ternary links that are connected to each other.

  • Publication number: 20260083607
Abstract: An upper body deck section has a supporting structure, and an articulation mechanism operatively connected to the supporting structure and to a frame of a patient support apparatus. The articulation mechanism includes a linkage assembly guiding movement of the supporting structure between a lowered position and a raised position. In the lowered position, the deck section panel extends at a first angle and a foot end of a deck section panel of the supporting structure is disposed at a first height. In the raised position, the deck section panel is disposed at a second greater angle and the foot end is disposed at a second greater height. The foot end is positioned further headward in the raised position than in the lowered position. As the supporting structure is moved from the lowered position to the raised position, the foot end does not move vertically lower than the first height.

  • Patent number: 5515078
Abstract: A system for receiving positional information and displaying a virtual world based on the positional information. The system includes a base and a chair that may be rotated with respect to the base by the user of the system. A monitor is attached to the chair so that it moves with the chair. A measuring device determines the rotational position of the chair. Joysticks are provided, and the bases of the joysticks are attached to the chair or the monitor so that they move with the chair. Data from the joysticks and from the rotational-position measuring device are sent to a processor, which accesses a data base defining a virtual world and generates an image on the monitor. The monitor image represents apparent movement within and through the virtual world represented by the databases.
