Disclosed are methods of treating a subject with HIV associated neurogenerative disorder (HAND) comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of B18R and cART. Disclosed are methods of reversing behavioral abnormalities in subjects having HAND comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of B18R.
