  • Patent number: 4932082
Abstract: A conventional pop-up drain plug is movable up and down by an actuator system to open and close the entry opening of a drain pipe. The plug includes a cap at one end to seal the opening, a base engagable by the actuator system, and an intermediate portion comprising a finned guide and a stem. An upwardly open strainer cup having a centrally apertured bottom is forced over the plug base and onto the stem. The cup includes small openings to pass drain water, and its rim is dimensioned to fit close to the drain pipe walls so that the cup will catch small articles passing through the drain pipe entry opening, while yet moving upwardly and downwardly with the drain plug.

  • Patent number: 4487580
Abstract: A spring loaded holder that includes a pair of rigid bodies that are laterally movable, which bodies define adjacent end surfaces of arcuate convex shape that may removably and frictionally grip concave end edges of gingival occlusal wings that are disposed outwardly from the base of an orthodontic bracket. When the bracket is so gripped it may be moved to a position where the surface of the base most remote from the holder may be bonded to a tooth. To prevent inadvertent rotation of the orthodontic bracket when so gripped relative to the holder, at least one of the pair of bodies includes an elongate protuberance that engage an anchor wire receiving groove in the surface of the bracket most distant from the base. The bodies if desired may be formed as an integral part of the holder.

  • Patent number: 3974567
Abstract: A temporary protector defined by a sheet of pliable paper or like material of such shape and size as to cover the masticating or occlusal surface of a dental crown. The sheet has first and second sides, with the first side being covered with a film of pressure sensitive adhesive. The film of pressure sensitive adhesive on each protector permits the latter to be removably bonded to the masticating surface of a dental crown prior to the crown being permanently secured to a prepared tooth by the use of conventional means, I.E. a crown and bridge cement, polycarboxylate cement, or the like. Each protector prevents the undulating masticating surface of the dental crown on which it is mounted from being contaminated with cement during the time it is being mounted on the prepared tooth structure.
