  • Patent number: 5518108
Abstract: A vibratory device operable as a two mass vibrating system comprising a base mass and a work member mass spring coupled and mounted on isolator springs and operating at a frequency approximating the natural frequency of the system. A multiple number of leaf springs inclined at an angle to the base and work member mounting plate provide a combination of torsional and vertical amplitude required to cause the conveying action of the work member. The exciter for the vibratory device is an AC powered multiple electromagnetic oscillator having a fixed redial air gap eliminating the possibility of self destruction by impact of the poles faces without limiting the amplitude of the vibratory device.

  • Patent number: 4530431
Abstract: A torsional vibrating device is disclosed for operation as a two mass vibrating system consisting of a first mass having a generally circular work member and a spring mechanism connecting the first mass to the second mass excited by a motor driven eccentric weight or weights so that the second mass vibrates in a circular path having a circular component and a vertical component which will cause material on said work member to be conveyed in a circular direction. The spring member is unique in this combination. The entire system is isolated from the supporting means. This system has application for controlling the flow of bulk material from a hopper, screen or feeder or for elevating or lowering a material in a helical trough or for orientation of discrete particles or other applications depending on a properly designed work member.

  • Patent number: 4218929
Abstract: A vibratory device operable as a two mass vibrating system for driving a work member as used in feeders, screens, conveyors and the like, employs a motor driven eccentric weight exciter attached to one mass which is spring coupled to a second mass with the entire device being supported by isolator springs. The spring coupling is adjustable in a generally vertical plane to vary the direction of application of the exciter forces transmitted from the first mass to the second mass to fix this direction as conditions of use call for, the second mass being vibrated with the work member forming a part of such second mass to perform the work produced by the vibratory device in driving the work member. A D.C. brush or brushless motor is particularly useful to drive the exciter for driving relatively small work members to achieve ease of changing the rotative speed of the eccentric weight exciter as conditions dictate.

  • Patent number: 4007825
Abstract: A vibratory parts feeder has a feeder bowl with a helical track originating at the bottom of the bowl and extending upwardly along the inner periphery of the bowl wall to an exit station at the top of the bowl. Articles can be progressively fed from the lower portion of the bowl along the helical track to the exit station at a given feed rate by vibratory energy. The feeder bowl and its mounting frame form a feeder bowl mass that is supported above a base mass by a plurality of inclined leaf springs. One end of each spring is connected to the feeder bowl mass and an opposite end of the spring is connected to the base mass. The leaf springs are arranged to move one of the masses vertically in response to rotational twisting of one of the masses relative to the other mass about a central vertical axis of the feeder.
