  • Publication number: 20050123884
Abstract: A system that employs a chosen one of a plurality of presentation selections to present information from a field device. The system has a field device interface that configures the field device in accordance with the chosen presentation selection. A control configurator programs the field device interface in accordance with the chosen presentation selection.

  • Publication number: 20050044576
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing reverse signals from a plurality of DHCTs to a downstream modulator that is located in the headend facility. The present invention includes a single wire return device (SWRD) that receives RF modulated signals, dynamically determines the address of the associated modulator, and converts the signals into Ethernet signals. The Ethernet signals are subsequently provided to the headend facility via fiber cable.

  • Patent number: 5341487
Abstract: A personal computer has a memory system including a write-through cache which is accessible by more than one device. A snoop mechanism includes logic that monitors bus master control signals to determine if a new memory write cycle has been started before a current snoop cycle has finished. If a new cycle has been started, then a corresponding snoop cycle occurs which overlaps the new memory cycle and is pipelined with the previous snoop cycle so that the snooping mechanism does not fall behind the memory write cycles.

  • Patent number: 5305277
Abstract: An address decoder is connected to an address bus and comprises a plurality of latches for latching address signals from the address bus. Decode logic is connected to use unlatched addresses from the address bus or latched addresses from the latches. The decoder is selectively operable to decode addresses in two modes, an unlatched mode and a latched mode dependent upon system frequency. The decode logic produces a signal that is transmitted into a state machine for controlling operation thereof.

  • Patent number: 4901062
Abstract: An all points addressable raster scan graphics display system is operable in two modes. In the first mode, data is extracted from a refresh store, serialized, modified, and applied to a display device at a first frequency. In the second mode, data is extracted from the refresh store, serialized and partially modified at said first frequency, but it is then further modified and passed to the display device at an even sub harmonic, for example half, of the first frequency. The further modification includes concatenation of successive groups of display data bits. Accordingly, with the raster scan device operating at a constant scan velocity, the first mode provides a high picture element definition but relatively low color definition display, and the second mode provides a display with an even submultiple, for example half, the picture element definition but considerably greater color definition.

  • Patent number: 4567348
Abstract: A device for automatically controlling the movement of a welding torch (10) while welding an elongated joint (18). A charge injection television camera (30) is carried on a movable support (20) and includes a matrix of individual light sensing video elements (pixels, 32) which generate voltages responsive to light reflected off of the joint (18) and surrounding areas of the workpiece (12). The voltages produced by the pixels (32) are converted to digital words which are fed to a microprocessor (54) for generating an error signal. This error signal is fed to a digital motor (26) which is used to drive a movable support (20) upon which the television camera (30) is carried.

  • Patent number: 4562368
Abstract: A homopolar generator includes a stator producing a magnetic field and a rotor which rotates in the stator magnetic field to generate electrical discharge current. The current is available from a slip ring surface defined on the rotor, and a plurality of brush mechanisms are provided to collect and transfer the discharge current from the rotor slip ring. Each brush mechanism includes a brush pad for contacting the rotor slip ring. The brush pad is attached to one end of a laminated trailing arm brush strap. A brush actuator forces the brush pad into contact with the rotor slip ring against the yieldable brush lifting force of the brush strap. To compensate for the reaction between adjacent brush straps due to the magnetic fields set up by the discharge current being transferred by each, a conductor strap is electrically connected to the end of the brush strap opposite the attached brush.

  • Patent number: 4118620
Abstract: A computerized system for translating a torch head tip at a constant travel speed along a contoured workpiece including a driven skate characterized by an elongated bed, a pair of independently pivotal trucks connected to the bed in supporting relation therewith and mounted on a contoured track of an arbitrary configuration in mutually spaced relation, an axially extensible torch head manipulator arm mounted on the bed of the carriage and projected perpendicularly from the midportion thereof and having a torch head mounted at its distal end, and a real-time computerized control drive subsystem to advance the skate along the track at a variable rate for maintaining a constant speed for the torch head tip and to position the torch axis relative to a preset angle to the workpiece.
