Patent number: 11977008Abstract: In mass spectrometry significant error is introduced during sample preparation (sample-to-sample error), during ion generation (ion suppression), and during ion transmission (ion transmission losses). We demonstrate the ability to correct for ion suppression and ion transmission losses, and that once corrected for ion losses, a sample-to-sample normalization of the analytical sample to the internal standard is possible. By normalizing to a standard sample the analytical sample becomes completely comparable to any similarly treated sample.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2022Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignee: IROA TECHNOLOGIES, LLC.Inventors: Christopher William Ward Beecher, Felice de Jong

Publication number: 20240090789Abstract: Apparatus for performing impedance measurements on a subject. The apparatus includes a first processing system for determining an impedance measurement procedure and determining instructions corresponding to the measurement procedure. A second processing system is provided for receiving the instructions, using the instructions to generate control signals, with the control signals being used to apply one or more signals to the subject. The second processing system then receives first data indicative of the one or more signals applied to the subject, second data indicative of one or more signals measured across the subject and performs at least preliminary processing of the first and second data to thereby allow impedance values to be determined.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 25, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: Scott Chetham, Andrew William Ward, James McFarlane Kennedy

Publication number: 20240081941Abstract: Ultrasound imaging is a non-invasive, non-radioactive, and low cost technology for diagnosis and identification of implantable medical devices in real time. Developing new ultrasound activated coatings is important to broaden the utility of in vivo marking by ultrasound imaging. Ultrasound responsive macro-phase segregated micro-composite thin films were developed to be coated on medical devices composed of multiple materials and with multiple shapes and varying surface area. The macro-phase segregated films having silica micro-shells in polycyanoacrylate produces strong color Doppler signals with the use of a standard clinical ultrasound transducer. Electron microscopy showed a macro-phase separation during slow curing of the cyanoacrylate adhesive, as air-filled silica micro-shells were driven to the surface of the film. The air sealed in the hollow space of the silica shells acted as an ultrasound contrast agent and echo decorrelation of air exposed to ultrasound waves produces color Doppler signals.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 13, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Inventors: Jian Yang, Alexander Liberman, James Wang, Christopher Barback, Natalie Mendez, Erin Ward, Sarah Blair, Andrew C.
