  • Publication number: 20060047845
Abstract: The exemplary embodiments describe methods, systems, and products that intelligently translate between streaming formats. One such method receives a multimedia stream of data, with the multimedia stream of data having a streaming protocol. Network control data is received and indicates a level of demand for the multimedia stream of data. The multimedia stream of data is translated to a different streaming protocol to reduce bandwidth. The translated multimedia stream of data is then forwarded to a transport network.

  • Publication number: 20050177618
Abstract: A method of distributing segmented content to a consumer. The method includes receiving a request from a consumer for segmented content. Segments of the segmented content are classified as primary content and secondary content. A segment of primary content is delivered to a consumer at a first bandwidth along with at least one segment of secondary content at a second bandwidth, the second bandwidth being lower than the first bandwidth.

  • Publication number: 20050138655
Abstract: A method of managing rights associated with content. The method includes receiving a request from a consumer for segmented content. Segments of the segmented content are classified as primary content and secondary content. A segment of primary content is delivered to a consumer along with at least one segment of secondary content. The segment of primary content is divided into portions and portions of the primary content is stored in distributed locations on a storage device. A content map is generated indicating locations of said portions of the primary content.
