  • Publication number: 20150259905
Abstract: A fire and/or water resistant expansion joint system for installation between substrates of a tunnel. The system includes a coating applied at a predetermined thickness to the substrates and a fire and water resistant expansion joint. The expansion joint includes a core and a fire retardant infused into the core. The core is configured to define a profile to facilitate the compression of the expansion joint system when installed between the substrates. The coating and the fire and water resistant expansion joint are each capable of withstanding exposure to a temperature of at least about 540° C. or greater for about five minutes.

    Inventors: Lester Hensley, William Witherspoon
  • Patent number: 9068297
Abstract: An expansion joint system includes: a core; and a layer of an elastomer disposed on the core. The core and the layer of elastomer disposed thereon form an elongated section, the elongated section configured to be oriented vertically between substantially coplanar substrates. The expansion joint system further includes a termination section located at one end of the elongated section and comprising a flared end forming an angle with the elongated section and configured to direct fluid and/or particles and/or solvents away from the expansion joint system.

  • Publication number: 20150023755
Abstract: A system configured to anchor a cover plate over an interface formed between substantially coplanar substrates includes a sleeve capable of being anchored in a first substrate; a spring located in the sleeve; a post located in communication with the spring; and a fastener secured onto the post. A head of the post is located in the sleeve, and an end of the post opposite the head of the post extends out of the sleeve to receive the fastener. The fastener is secured onto the post over the cover plate located on the first substrate such that the cover plate extends over the interface formed between the first and second substrates when they are positioned to be substantially coplanar.

  • Publication number: 20080193738
Abstract: An impregnated foam comprises a flexible cellular foam impregnated with a chemical agent in which a plurality of particles having dimensions of 100 micrometers or less are dispersed. The foam can be compressed between two structural elements to form, e.g., a joint sealant; an expansion joint; a closure; a gap filler; a gasket; or a sealing, insulating, acoustical or anti-vibration sheet or blanket. Inclusion of the fine particles enables the use of less chemical agent or a lower degree of compression to obtain the same sealant performance as previous impregnated foams.

  • Patent number: 5703544
Abstract: The present invention discloses an RF printed circuit module and the method of making it. The RF printed circuit module includes a first single-clad sheet having a dielectric layer and a metal layer attached to a top surface thereof, a second single-clad sheet having a dielectric layer and a metal layer attached to a bottom surface thereof, and a double-clad sheet having a dielectric layer with a first metal layer attached to a top surface and a second metal layer attached to a bottom surface, wherein the double-clad sheet is positioned between and attached to the first and second single-clad sheets. The first and second metal layers of the double-clad sheet are etched to form desired lumped and distributed circuit elements thereon. The metal layers of the first and second single-clad sheets are etched to provide ground planes and portions of external terminals for the RF printed circuit module.
