  • Patent number: 8682004
Abstract: In a vehicle-to-vehicle network, a driver may listen to audio generated by other drivers participating in the network. The usability of the audio is enhanced by determining the relative positions of the providing and the receiving vehicles and then distributing received audio to specific speakers in the audio system of the receiving vehicle to create an impression that the sound originates from a source on the line between the two vehicles. The audio distributed to different speakers in the vehicle changes as the relative positions of the two vehicles changes. Volume changes and Doppler effects can be added to the audio if the two vehicles are converging or diverging.

  • Patent number: 8527868
Abstract: A method and system for document annotation. A script editor is combined with a document rendering or client display system that allows a user to develop a customizable programmatic annotation script that is thereafter saved and associated with a document. When the document is selected for viewing, the rendering system renders the document and then, using a script language interpreter, runs the annotation script such that a user customizable programmatic annotation is rendered on top of the document. Annotations may include, for example, animation, sounds, or time-delayed effects. Server side annotation scripts may also be implemented thereby allowing management of documents on a document-by-document basis.

  • Patent number: 8214857
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and article of manufacture for generating a combined video stream from multiple input video streams. A first video stream including a first product commercial generated to be played at a first playback speed and a second video stream including a second product commercial generated to be played at a second playback speed are processed. The second playback speed is faster than the first playback speed. A combined video stream is generated including a first panel in each frame to display the first video stream and a second panel in each frame to display the second video stream. When the combined video stream is played at the first playback speed the second video stream is rendered to appear at a slower speed than the second playback speed for which it was generated. When the combined video stream is played at the second playback speed the first video speed is rendered to appear at a faster speed than the first playback speed for which it was generated.
