  • Patent number: 11975609
Abstract: Embodiments herein are directed to a transparent steering wheel system for a vehicle that includes a sensor system, a projection system, and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to determine when a plurality of display data displayed on a display device behind a steering wheel is blocked by the steering wheel from a field of view of a driver, determine when a desirable notification is included in the plurality of display data, and when the desirable notification is included and the field of view of the desirable notification for the driver is blocked by the steering wheel, control the projection system to project the desirable notification onto the projection surface of the steering wheel that fully covers the steering wheel such that the steering wheel appears to be transparent when the desirable notification is displayed onto the projection surface.

  • Patent number: 11948227
Abstract: Certain embodiments of the present disclosure provide techniques for eliminating an appearance of one or more objects in an environment surrounding a vehicle during operation of the vehicle. A method generally includes detecting the one or more objects in first sensor data collected from first sensors onboard the vehicle, wherein the first sensor data is representative of the environment surrounding the vehicle; receiving, from other vehicles, second sensor data collected from second sensors onboard the other vehicles, wherein the second sensor data is representative of the environment surrounding each of the one or more other vehicles; generating one or more augmented reality images depicting portions of the environment obstructed by the one or more objects in the first sensor data; displaying the one or more augmented reality images in an augmented reality display such that the augmented reality images are positioned to overlay the one or more objects.

  • Publication number: 20060140224
Abstract: A system and method are provided for generating a flag stream that is used to mark the half rate and quarter rate bytes in an enhanced vestigial sideband (eVSB) data stream. The flag generator includes a buffer, a counter, and an interleaver. The buffer receives map data from a map decoder. The map data indicates the number of half rate and quarter rate packets that are present in a given eVSB data frame. The map data also includes a multiplexer option bit that indicates how the half rate and quarter rate packets are multiplexed in the eVSB data frame. The flag generator uses the map data to generate a flag stream that marks the bytes of the eVSB data frame for accurately separating the half rate data and the quarter rate data.

  • Publication number: 20060104305
Abstract: A system for using a low-level packet protocol to accelerate content delivery in a non-routable network is provided. The system includes a transport stream processor for receiving a multiple program transport stream (e.g., in MPEG-2 format) and extracting a data program stream from the transport stream. The data program stream includes audio/video content in a second format (e.g., in MPEG-4 format). A packet generator packetizes the content in the data program stream for delivery over an Internet protocol (IP)-based local area network. Further features, such as quality of service management, are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20060101495
Abstract: A simulation system is provided for emulating media access control (MAC) messages that are exchanged between a headend controller and one or more set top boxes. The simulation system can be used to test the low-level functionality of the set top boxes. The system includes a headend simulator that includes a MAC emulator state machine. The MAC emulator state machine implements a cable MAC over an Ethernet network interface.
