  • Publication number: 20220029921
Abstract: Techniques for obtaining application network metadata from a service registry so that a network routing policy may be derived for traffic associated with the application are described herein. The techniques may include receiving, at a service registry, network metadata associated with traffic of an application hosted by a scalable application service platform. The techniques may also include obtaining, by a controller of a network and from the service registry, the network metadata associated with the traffic of the application. Based at least in part on the network metadata, the controller may determine a routing policy that is optimized for sending the traffic through the network. Additionally, the controller may send an indication of the routing policy to a node of the network or otherwise provision the network such that the traffic of the application is sent through the network according to the routing policy.

  • Publication number: 20210398337
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that are directed to generating video sequences including physio-realistic avatars. In examples, an albedo for an avatar is received, a sub-surface skin color associated with the albedo is modified based on physiological data associated with physiologic characteristic, and an avatar based on the albedo and the modified sub-surface skin color is rendered. The rendered avatar may then be synthesized in a frame of video. In some examples, a video including the synthesized avatar may be used to train a machine learning model to detect a physiological characteristic. The machine learning model may receive a plurality of video segments, where one or more of the video segments includes a synthetic physio-realistic avatar generated with the physiological characteristic. The machine learning model may be trained using the plurality of video segments. The trained model may be provided to a requesting entity.

  • Patent number: 11164334
Abstract: There is an apparatus for detecting pose of an object. The apparatus comprises a processor configured to receive captured sensor data depicting the object. It also has a memory storing a parameterized model of a class of 3D shape of which the object is a member, where an instance of the model is given as a mapping from a point in a 2D rectangular grid to a 3D position. The processor is configured to compute values of the parameters of the model by calculating an optimization to fit the model to the captured sensor data, using the parametrized mapping. The processor is configured to output the computed values of the parameters comprising at least global position and global orientation of the object.

  • Patent number: 11107242
Abstract: In various examples there is an apparatus for detecting position and orientation of an object. The apparatus comprises a memory storing at least one frame of captured sensor data depicting the object. The apparatus also comprises a trained machine learning system configured to receive the frame of the sensor data and to compute a plurality of two dimensional positions in the frame. Each predicted two dimensional position is a position of sensor data in the frame depicting a keypoint, where a keypoint is a pre-specified 3D position relative to the object. At least one of the keypoints is a floating keypoint depicting a pre-specified position relative to the object, lying inside or outside the object's surface. The apparatus comprises a pose detector which computes the three dimensional position and orientation of the object using the predicted two dimensional positions and outputs the computed three dimensional position and orientation.

  • Publication number: 20210211347
Abstract: In one embodiment, an edge device located at an edge of a local network provides connectivity between the local network and a cloud-based software as a service (SaaS) provider via one or more interfaces. The edge device obtains telemetry data associated with the edge device for a plurality of metrics. The edge device makes a determination that one or more of the plurality of metrics is anomalous. The edge device sends, based on the determination, an indication of the determination to the SaaS provider. The SaaS provider uses the indication to determine a root cause of an application served by the SaaS provider experiencing degraded application performance.

  • Publication number: 20210211810
Abstract: In some embodiments, an ear-mounted sound reproduction system is provided. The system includes an ear-mountable housing that sits within the pinna of the ear and occludes the ear canal. In some embodiments, the ear-mountable housing includes a plurality of external-facing microphones. Because the external-facing microphones may be situated within the pinna of the ear but outside of the ear canal, the microphones will experience some, but not all, of the three-dimensional acoustic effects of the pinna. In some embodiments, sound is reproduced by an internal-facing driver element of the housing using a plurality of filters applied to the signals received by the plurality of external-facing microphones to preserve three-dimensional localization cues that would be present at the eardrum in the absence of the housing, such that the housing is essentially transparent to the user. In some embodiments, techniques are provided for deriving the plurality of filters.

  • Publication number: 20210103363
Abstract: Described herein are methods and electronic devices for performing playback of streamed media, including complementing a media content item with an associated media content item. In accordance with an exemplary embodiment, during playback of a first media content item, a message is sent to a computer server system, to return information that a related second media content item is selectable. The information that the second media content item is selectable is displayed at a user interface as a visual array of tiles, wherein each one of the tiles corresponds to a respective second media content item. Playback of the second media content item can be combined with the first media content item. By displaying information about selectable associated media content items to a user, the user will be enabled to individually select associated media content items to complement a currently playbacked media content item.
