  • Patent number: 10273070
Abstract: A collapsible container for the storage and transport of flowable material. The container is provided with a continuous sheet of side panels secured into stepped engagement with itself to define an interior. Foldable support brackets are secured to the side panels to maintain the side panels at an angled orientation relative to the side panels of the container and to prevent distortion of the side panels by hydrostatic pressure toward a circular orientation. The support brackets define an opening in the top of the collapsible container through which a fill head may engage a top cap of a flexible liner provided within the collapsible container, to fill the liner with flowable material.

  • Patent number: 5549341
Abstract: Apparatus for securing a container to a buffering mechanism with a binding member. The buffering mechanism has a plurality of cleats at the corners thereof, each with an aperture for receiving a banding member which is threaded through the cleats and wrapped around the contained material in a "saddle-strapping" pattern. In another embodiment, the buffering member includes a platform with holes therethrough, and the banding member is threaded through the holes to pass under the platform and wrap around the container to secure it thereto.

  • Patent number: 5353982
Abstract: A fluent container and a method of using the fluent container are provided to fixedly and safely secure the discharge fitting of the bag and, therefore, the bag which contains the fluent material, to the bottom of the container. The container has a pre-use configuration convenient for storage which includes a flattened side member and nested cover and bottom members with the bag contained therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4208954
Abstract: The container of the present invention includes polygonal sidewalls with at least some of the upper edges of the side walls each having a container locking flap thereon and with at least one other of the side walls being free from locking flaps. The lid has polygonal edge walls sized to matingly fit over the upper edges of the container side walls. Each of the edge walls of the lid are provided with a lid lock flap which folds upwardly and inwardly with respect to the edge walls and which terminates in an upwardly presented edge spaced downwardly from the top of the lid. When the lid is placed over the top of the container, the lock flaps of the container retentively engage the upwardly presented edges of the lid lock flaps. The lid may be removed after the first locking by severing the lid lock flaps from the lid with a knife or other cutting instrument.

  • Patent number: 4195555
Abstract: The method for forming a polygonal container from a blank comprises placing the blank over a polygonal cone having the same number of sides as the side walls of the polygon to be formed. The blank is inverted during placement over the cone so that the upper edges of the container side walls engage the sides of the cone and so that the bottom closure portion of the container is presented upwardly. The bottom closure is folded inwardly along preformed folding lines into a configuration comprising a plurality of triangular bottom panels equal in number to the side panels and a plurality of interconnecting webs each extending between a pair of adjacent bottom panels. Each bottom panel is hingedly connected to one of the side panels and is inclined upwardly from the lower edge of the side panel to which it is connected to form an acute angle therewith.
