In an embodiment, a service mode is supported wherein the door is left unlocked despite the occurrence of such an event, to allow a stocker or other personnel to leave the cooler or freezer door open while stocking the cooler or freezer with product.

The method further includes calculating a working distance based on the apparent angular size of the structure of the eyes or the face; and saving at least the working distance to memory or reporting out the calculated working distance on the display. A first reflecting assembly redirects the first optical path from the separating mirror toward a first FOV. The first optical path is extended free of splitting the image. The separating mirror assembly redirects a second optical path of a second optics with respect to a second image sensor in the camera assembly. A second reflecting assembly redirects the second optical path from the separating mirror toward a second FOV. The second optical path is extended free of splitting the image projected from the scene on the second image sensor.

Sensor data can be captured and represented as a top-down representation of the environment. The top-down representation can be input to a machine learned model trained to output prediction probabilities associated with a disengagement event.
