    Abstract: A method for sterilizing a lipid-containing formulation wherein the pH and the ionic strength of the lipid-containing formulation are optionally adjusted and the lipid-containing formulation is subjected to a temperature of between about 126° C. and about 130° C. for a time of between about 2 minutes and about 10 minutes. A stabilizing excipient is optionally added to the lipid-containing formulation.
