  • Patent number: 4898103
Abstract: A desk has a vertically adjustable top and at least one vertical guide member movable upwardly and downwardly on a support or frame. A spring leg is disposed between the frame and vertically adjustable desk components. The spring leg is pivoted at one end to a guide member and its other end is braced against a curved rail. The braced end is movable on the rail and lockable in positions corresponding to accommodate various loads on the desk top. The curve of the rail is chosen so that in any position of the braced spring end, the vertical components of force acting on the guide member are equal, at least in two opposite end positions of the desk top. This results in equilibrium in each vertical position for every load on the desk top, after the spring leg has been adjusted.

  • Patent number: 4604955
Abstract: The table comprises a mounting with columns each comprised of a lower portion and of a telescopic upper portion. A cross-bar connects the upper portions. A height adjusting device acts on the upper telescopic portion which carries a plate for the keyboard and an independent height adjustable screen plate. Each plate has its own lower portions and upper portions and its own adjusting system. Each column has its own actuation handle arranged on the long side of the plate and comprising driving shafts for the height adjusting device of the keyboard plate and the screen plate. The driving shafts traverse the lower portion and the upper portion carrying the keyboard plate and the traversed upper portions are provided with oblong holdes for the driving shafts, of which the length corresponds at least to the adjusting travel. Such arrangement enables to house the driving shafts in an invisible manner and to support them in a simple way.

  • Patent number: 4441758
Abstract: An adjustable foot rest is disclosed which comprises a floor stand, a foot plate which is pivotally mounted to the floor stand for height and inclination adjustment and an apparatus interengaged between the floor stand and the foot plate for adjusting the inclination and height of the foot plate. A trackway is defined on the foot plate which receives a rotatable and slidably mounted actuating shaft. A rack is defined on the floor stand which is engaged with a pinion connected to the actuating shaft. The rack extends along a horizontal line and the trackway extends at an acute angle to the rack so that rotation of the shaft causes movement of the shaft along the rack which in turn moves the trackway with respect to the floor stand to adjust the height and inclination of the foot plate.
