  • Patent number: 5890886
Abstract: A packing as a porous body for burners, in particular for heating systems, is provided with a housing having an inlet for a gas/air mixture as a combustable gas mixture, a combustion chamber, an ignition device in the combustion chamber and an exhaust gas outlet. The combustion chamber is at least partly filled with a three-dimensional ordered packing of heat resistant ceramic material, foil material, or sheet metal material having continuous hollow cavities for the formation of a defined flame zone.

  • Patent number: 5330267
Abstract: A stationary fluid mixer in a flow conduit (7) has at least two baffle plates (10) secured to the wall of the conduit. The baffle plates are wider on the inside of the flow conduit than along the conduit wall, and they form an angle W of 10.degree. to 45.degree. relative to the main flow direction Z. The baffle plates can be given different orientations, and the projection FZ of the baffle plates in the main flow direction through the conduit is between 5.degree. to 30.degree. of the conduit cross-section F. This provides efficient mixing of the fluid in a simple manner.

  • Patent number: 4692030
Abstract: The static mixing device includes a tubular casing and at least one mixing element composed of individual webs which are secured in the wall of the casing. The webs are disposed in crossing relation to each other with a transverse spacing therebetween. The terminal ends of each web are secured within the wall of the casing by being shrink-fitted, soldered, welded or threaded.

  • Patent number: 4623454
Abstract: The mass transfer column through which a continuous phase and at least one dispersed phase flow in countercurrent has two embodiments of packing elements disposed in the mass transfer section of the column. The first embodiment takes the form of corrugated layers which are disposed parallel to the column axis and engage one another, the corrugations of adjacent layers crossing one another. In the second embodiment plane intermediate layers are introduced between adjacent corrugated layers. The elements with intermediate layers provide cross-conveyance of the dispersed phase while the corrugated elements are responsible for mass transfer and for maintaining the dispersion distribution.
