  • Publication number: 20220098123
Abstract: Trafficked pavement substrates utilize markings to segregate traffic (e.g., divide lanes traveling in the same direction, divide sides of the road traveling in opposite directions). A dry polymer modified cement mixture may be used to provide the markings. The dry polymer modified cement mixture is prepared by mixing a dry polymer modified cement blend (ordinary Portland cement, aggregate and polymer powders) with water. The location of the lines is identified, and the dry polymer modified cement mixture is applied onto the identified areas as a thin layer. The dry polymer modified cement blend may include polymers to provide colored markings. Glass beads may be embedded into the dry polymer modified mixture before it cures to retroreflect light shined thereon. The trafficked pavement substrate may have troughs formed therein and the dry polymer modified cement markings may be formed therewithin so that the markings are flush.

  • Patent number: 11285678
Abstract: Modular tool inserts for composite part manufacturing and related methods are described herein. An example method includes disposing a preform and a diaphragm assembly above a tool housing and disposing the diaphragm assembly on an upper perimeter surface of the tool housing that defines a cavity. The tool housing includes a docking station and a modular tool insert removably coupled to the docking station. The modular tool insert includes a mold disposed within the cavity. The method includes applying a vacuum within the cavity that pulls the diaphragm assembly, along with the preform, into the cavity such that the preform conforms to a shape of the mold. The method includes removing excess portions of the diaphragm assembly from around the modular tool insert and removing the modular tool insert, along with the diaphragm assembly and the preform, from the docking station.

  • Patent number: 11287526
Abstract: Described herein is a system for generating echolocation sounds to assist a user having no sight or limited sight to navigate a three-dimensional space (e.g., physical environment, computer gaming experience, and/or virtual reality experience). Input is received from a user to generate echolocation sounds to navigate a three-dimensional space. Based at least on the received input, a digital representation of the three-dimensional space is segmented into one or more depth planes using an unsupervised machine learning algorithm. For each depth plane, object segments are determined for each object within the particular depth plane. Locations of a plurality of echo sound nodes are determined in accordance with the depth level and surface area of each object defined by the determined segments. The echolocation sounds comprising a spatialized sound from each echo sound node originating from the determined location are generated.

  • Patent number: 11290596
Abstract: An enhanced routing system determines a service provider best suited to fulfill a user's request to interact and establishes a communication session between the user's client device and a device of the service provider. The enhanced routing system may use user characteristics and behavior to select the service provider. For example, the enhanced routing system receives a request to connect to a customer service system from a user who has recently started a new job and has been accessing a banking application on his mobile phone. The enhanced routing system may determine that a payroll service provider is best suited to fulfill the user's request. For example, the enhanced routing system uses a machine learning model that has been trained on previously fulfilled requests. In this way, the enhanced routing system improves upon systems that continuously prompt the user for information by selecting a service provider without overburdening the user.

  • Patent number: 11288932
Abstract: A system is configured for detecting errors in an ATM. The system includes a processor that receives a withdrawal request from a user to receive cash from a cash dispenser of the ATM. Currency denominations and a number of bills for each currency denomination needed to fulfill the withdrawal request is determined. The system sends signal commands to cassettes of the ATM to dispense bills to fulfill the withdrawal request. A camera is positioned in a pathway of the bills being dispensed from the cassettes to the cash dispenser. The camera captures images of bills being dispensed from the cassettes and sends them to the processor. The processor generates an alert if a number of bills dispensed from at least one cassette does not match a corresponding number of bills expected to be dispensed from the at least one cassette.

  • Patent number: 11287831
Abstract: There is provided an electrically-powered material-transport vehicle having a vehicle-charging contact on one side of the vehicle, and a second vehicle-charging contact on the opposite side of the vehicle. The vehicle has a load-bearing cap that covers the top of the vehicle, and a cap elevator for raising and lowering the cap. The cap can be raised and lowered to a transit position, a payload-engagement position, a charging position, and a maintenance position. In the transit position and payload-engagement position, the cap covers the vehicle-charging contacts so that they are not exposed. In the charging position, the cap is raised so that the vehicle-charging contacts are exposed. The vehicle can enter a charging-dock with the cap in the charging position in order to recharge the vehicle's battery.
