The dock further includes an arm rotatably coupled to the base at a first end and rotatably coupled to the cradle at a second end. A security apparatus is configured to be inserted into a slot of the portable electronic device upon insertion of the portable electronic device into the cradle to prohibit removal of the portable electronic device from the dock.

Abstract: A security apparatus for a portable electronic device having an aperture includes a lock mechanism having a lock cylinder and a cam member. The lock cylinder is configured to be rotated by a key. The cam member is coupled to the lock cylinder for rotation with the lock cylinder. The cam member has a slot. The security apparatus also includes an engagement mechanism having a first finger, a second finger, and a plunger. The first finger and the second finger are configured to be inserted into the aperture of the portable electronic device. The plunger is positioned between the first finger and the second finger and has a cam follower positioned within the slot of the cam member. As the cam member is rotated by the lock cylinder, the plunger pushes the first finger and the second finger apart from each other to engage the portable electronic device.

The system includes an adapter with a base that is connectable to the object. The adapter has a protrusion that operatively connects to and extends outwards from its base. The system includes a camera mount threadably connecting to the base of the camera and for connecting with the adapter. The camera mount has a locking mechanism capable of quickly releasing the adapter from the camera mount. The locking mechanism includes a centrally disposed recessed portion. The protrusion of the adapter is shaped to fit within the recessed portion and engage with the locking mechanism for selectively connecting the adapter to the camera mount.

The breakaway key may have one or more stress areas, to facilitate separation of the key when it is improperly used. The security apparatus may have a rotatable sleeve, so that a user attempting to twist the security apparatus will only end up twisting the sleeve. Thus, the security apparatus cannot easily be broken by a rotation.

Abstract: A security system is disclosed. Embodiments of the system comprise a key containing a unique identifier, and a security device capable of reading the unique identifier from the key. In certain embodiments the unique identifier is stored on an integrated circuit within the key along with a power supply for the security device. Use of the proper key can initiate the locking or unlocking of the security device, through actuating means.

Abstract: A process is disclosed for the continuous production of sodium methylate from sodium and an excess of methanol. The process involves charging a reaction vessel with a solution of sodium methylate in methanol at a temperature of from about 80.degree. to 86.degree. C.; providing an inert atmosphere in the reaction vessel; agitating the contents of the reaction vessel; adding molten sodium at a metered rate to the agitated reaction vessel; adding methanol to the agitated reaction vessel at a rate which maintains the temperature of the reaction mass in a range of 80.degree. to 86.degree. C.; reacting the sodium and methanol for a sufficient time to substantially complete the reaction of sodium; and withdrawing from the reaction vessel a solution of sodium methylate in methanol.
