  • Patent number: 9606475
Abstract: The printing method includes the steps of (1) Transferring after charging a charged liquid developer dispersion from a surface of the first member optionally via the at least one further member to a substrate, wherein excess liquid developer dispersion remains present on the first member after the transfer; (2) Treating the excess liquid developer dispersion so as to facilitate its removal from the first member (3) removing, at least substantially, the treated excess liquid developer dispersion from the surface of the first member using a removal device, and (4) upon interrupting or terminating the printing, removing material adhered to the removal device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 4, 2014
Date of Patent: March 28, 2017
    Assignee: Xeikon IP B.V.
Inventors: Werner Jozef Johan Op de Beeck, Wim Libaers, Lode Erik Dries Deprez
  • Patent number: 9500998
Abstract: Disclosed is a liquid toner dispersion which has a relative low shear viscosity between 1.25 and 225 and a relative conductivity between 0.3 and 30. The liquid toner dispersion includes toner particles in a non-polar carrier liquid, as well as a dispersing agent. This liquid toner dispersion is used in a digital printing process including adding dispersing agent during recycling of excess liquid toner dispersion remaining on a development member after patterned transfer of liquid toner dispersion to the imaging member.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 4, 2014
Date of Patent: November 22, 2016
    Assignee: Xeikon IP B.V.
Inventors: Lode Erik Dries Deprez, Wim Libaers, Werner Jozef Johan Op de Beeck, Kurt Gustaaf Maria Mampaey, Mathias Jo Bert van Remortel

  • Patent number: 9164412
Abstract: A digital printing apparatus comprising a developing roller (102) and an image carrying roller (101); the developing roller (102) being arranged to transfer liquid toner (107) onto the image carrying roller (101) in accordance with a charge pattern; an upstream charger (111) upstream of an area (108) of rotational contact between the developing roller (102) and the image carrying roller (101); a downstream discharger (112, 122, 132) downstream of the area (108); a sensor (200) downstream of the area (108) to detect a property representative of the charge of a liquid toner residue; and a controller (210) to receive sensor data from the sensor (200) and to provide a control signal to control the downstream discharger.
