    Abstract: An optical method and apparatus for generating true time delay signals for a phased array antenna. An optical beam is directed along a series of N paths of equal length L having U-turns therebetween and optical sub-beams are extracted at ends of the N paths and converted to electrical signals to create the true time delays.
