  • Patent number: 6306011
Abstract: A system to smooth and radius a microhole in a workplace to calibrate the mircohole which comprises means for preconditioning a microhole with a liquid abrasive slurry at a first station, means for flowing a calibration fluid through the preconditioned microhole and means for flowing a slurry through the microhole for a predetermined time based on the flow rate of the calibration fluid.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 11, 1998
Date of Patent: October 23, 2001
    Assignee: Dynetics Corporation
Inventors: Winfield B. Perry, Liam O'Shea, Mark Wright
  • Patent number: 6132482
Abstract: A system and method for radiusing and sizing microholes in diesel fuel injectors. A liquid abrasive slurry with rheological properties is used. As the slurry approaches and flows through the microhole, it is at first at a lower viscosity. Subsequently, the slurry is characterized by a high viscosity which enables the use of a flow meter in the slurry flow path which directly and accurately monitors slurry flow rate and mass flow in real time. This allows for the individual slurry processing of nozzles to their specified flow rate in a continuous process.

  • Patent number: 5807163
Abstract: A system and method for radiusing and sizing microholes in diesel fuel injectors. A liquid abrasive slurry with rheological properties is used. As the slurry approaches and flows through the microhole it is at a first lower viscosity. Subsequently, the slurry is characterized by a higher viscosity which enables the use of a floor meter in the slurry flow path which directly and accurately monitors slurry flow rate and mass flow in real time. This allows for individual slurry processing of nozzles to their specified flow race in a continuous process.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: September 15, 1998
    Assignee: Dynetics Corporation
    Inventor: Winfield B. Perry
  • Patent number: 5203883
Abstract: A composition for abrading, polishing, honing or deburring a surface. The composition comprises a polyboron organo silicon polymer loaded with abrasive granules. The silicon-granules are modified with a metallic soap and a polybutylene. The metallic soap and polybutylene are gelled prior to blending with the polymer.

Date of Patent: April 20, 1993
    Assignee: Dynetics Corp.
    Inventor: Winfield B. Perry
  • Patent number: 5182881
Abstract: An automated abrasive slurry metal finishing machine and process includes a part handler which transfers a metal part to a single spindle which inserts the part into the abrasive slurry for rotation oscillation and pendulum motion of the part in particularly agitated slurry.
