  • Patent number: 6298956
Abstract: The present invention discloses a brake lining which, in order to reduce and eliminate noises, has a sliding metal sheet in addition to the classical lining parts such as friction lining, lining support plate and damping plate. Further, the damping plate has bores which are filled with grease. The purpose of the grease is, primarily, to lubricate the surface directed to the sliding metal sheet and the damping plate so that both surfaces can slide on each other without friction.

  • Patent number: 6269734
Abstract: It is frequently important for the piston of a hydraulic piston-and-cylinder assembly, in particular the brake piston of a disc brake, which is slidably arranged within a cylinder bore to ensure a true-to-size mounting position of the piston inside the cylinder bore. Especially in the case of brake pistons of a disc brake, this determines the efficiency of provisions on the brake piston for reducing the occurrence of brake noises. According to the present invention, a key-type accommodation is provided on the piston which permits engagement by a matingly configured mounting means or mounting tool and, thus, renders possible the defined positioning of the piston within a cylinder bore.

  • Patent number: 6179095
Abstract: The invention involves a spring for a floating caliper disc brake with a frame jaw caliper which, in the middle section of its axial outer edge, has a side window and on both sides of this window openings for an axial bracket of a fixed brake anchor plate. The caliper is displaceably and axially mounted on the bracket of the brake anchor plate. Brake linings are attached on both sides of the disc brake to the bracket of the brake anchor plate in an axial, displaceable manner and are also overlapped by the frame jaw caliper. The invention includes a onepiece curved wire holding spring, the middle section of which is releasably attached to the axial outer brake lining and which has two springs arms that are essentially placed in a contrary tangential direction to the middle section. The holding spring biases the frame jaw caliper radially against the brake anchor plate and biases the axial outer brake lining axially against the inside of the outer edge of the frame jaw caliper.

  • Patent number: 6173819
Abstract: The present invention relates to a spot-type disc brake with a brake housing including a first side element, a second side element and a bridge element connecting the side elements and straddling a brake disc and with at least one arm arranged on the leading and/or trailing end, of the brake housing, straddling the brake disc and connecting the first side element with the second side element. The essence of the invention is that at least one side element is provided with a recess.

  • Patent number: 5002160
Abstract: A spot-type disc brake, in particular for motor vehicles, comprises a brake housing enclosing the rim of a brake disc and further comprising brake pads arranged on both sides of the brake disc and still further comprising at least one piston-cylinder-type actuating device. In order to reduce the influence of the heat generated during braking, the brake housing is formed with at least one ventilation channel arranged close to the brake disc beside a brake pad shaft which accommodates the brake pads.

  • Patent number: 4530506
Abstract: A sealing cap for mating to cylindrical parts such as the bolt guide of a spot-type disk brake. The cap includes a resilient boot one end portion of which is adapted to be secured circumferentially to a first cylindrical part and the other end portion of which is adapted to be secured circumferentially to a second cylindrical part. At least one of said end portion comprises a rigid insert member. In order that the sealing cap may be easily mounted and secured with no adverse effects, the other end portion may comprise a rigid insert member. Both insert memebers have at least a part of the radial extension thereof are disposed the same radial distance from the axis of the cylindrical parts.
