  • Patent number: 7662336
Abstract: The invention relates to a vessel (1) for the metallurgical treatment of pig iron, steel melts and similar, in particular a converter vessel, mounted on a support ring (3), arranged at a separation by means of pivot pins, whereby the vessel (1) rests on the top flange (3a) of the support ring (3) by means of claws (6) on the vessel wall (1b) and a support (4) is detachably embodied with additional fixing elements on the top flange (3a) of the support ring (3). According to the invention, the disadvantage of having to work in hot, restricted regions which are difficult for the personnel to access can be avoided, whereby the support on the top flange (3a) of the support ring (3) comprises opposing vessel brackets (7) and support ring brackets (8) which can be tensioned together in a closing direction (10) by means of a hinged closure (9) until a secure closed position is achieved and which may be easily opened in the opposing operating direction (12).

  • Patent number: 6290901
Abstract: A converter including a tiltable body, a mantle ring spaced from the converter body, supportable in support lugs and having a rectangular cross-section with upper and lower flanges, and lamella suspensions and body guides for connecting the mantle ring with the converter body, with the lamella suspension including a lamella pair having one of its opposite ends releasably secured to a first attachment bracket connected to the lower flange of the mantle ring, and having another of its opposite ends releasably secured to the second attachment bracket connected with the converter body, and with the body guide including two walls secured to the mantle ring, and a guide element displaceable backlash-free between the two guide walls in a circumferential direction and releasably connected to a third attachment bracket secured to the converter body.

  • Patent number: 5511795
Abstract: A sealing medium seal for sealing the rotary drum of a drum-shaped furnace against the stationary charging device and the downstream, stationary discharge chamber, in order to prevent infiltrated air from being drawn into the process space and toxic flue gases from surging out. A double seal is provided including wearable individual sections of the sealing ring, which are equipped with a circumferential groove, with a hole, and with a sleeve for the sealing medium connection, and are arranged displaceably between two flanges as well as of a pneumatic, deformable, one-part sealing element, to which pressurized medium is admitted via a connection. The two sealing elements are guided in a chamber formed by two side flanges and a closing flange, as a result of which the sealing elements are completely sealed both in the radial direction and in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 4200400
Abstract: A mixing car for transporting molten metals, comprises, a car undercarriage with a longitudinally elongated mixing vessel supported on the undercarriage at each end for rotation about a horizontally disposed longitudinal axis of the vessel. The support means at at least one end comprises a support bridge frame which is universally pivotally mounted on the undercarriage and is provided with journals on each side for accommodating a support roller shaft which is held in position in respect to the support bridge frame by an anti-rotation safety. The roller shafts include ends which extend outwardly from each longitudinal end of the bridge frame and hollow rollers are mounted on each projecting end of the roller shaft on suitable roller bearings. Interior support rollers are also provided which are affixed to the end of the shaft outboard of the roller bearings and which carry diametrically opposite rollers which engage and support the support rollers.

  • Patent number: 4069975
Abstract: A mixer truck for shipping molten metals in an elongated, substantially cylindrical vessel, which has an end portion with a plurality of annular bearing rings extending therearound, comprises a truck body with a frame plate girder which is universally mounted on the body. The frame plate girder carries two spaced sets of rollers forming a rotational cradle support for each of the ring members on the cylindrical vessel. A drive motor, carried on the universally mounted frame plate girder, is connected to drive a sprocket wheel or gear extending around the vessel between the rings.
