    Abstract: Trigger signals are obtained from fuel injection parameters to regulate the energy conversion of an internal combustion engine which has individual injection valves for each of the combustion chambers. The fuel injection parameters are detected by sensors, from which fuel flow rate as a function of time, fuel injection time and other operating characteristics are determined and used to provide trigger signals for controlling fuel injection in a subsequent operation cycle. In this way, the influence of variations resulting from manufacturing tolerance and wear of components of the injection valves can be eliminated.
