  • Publication number: 20180248683
Abstract: Indirect fire protocol according to several embodiments of the present invention can include the initial step establishing a grid and locating a forward observer (FO) and a firing unit (FU) in the grid. The FO can estimate the bearing and range to a High Value Target (HVT) within the grid, and can homomorphically encrypting said HVT estimated position data. FO can then transmit the encrypted HVT estimated position data over cloud network architecture to a Fire Direction Center (FDC), using the FDC's Keypublic. The FDC can outsource the calculation of an absolute position of said HVT in said grid to non-secure internet cloud architecture, but with encrypted HVT estimation data and the FO position data in the grid (which the FDC knows). Once calculated, the HVT encrypted absolute position data can be decrypted, and then transmitted from FDC to a FU, using the FU's Keypublic.

  • Publication number: 20180209853
Abstract: Process for measuring emission for a flame in an open combustion environment. A captured image is received from each of a plurality of image capturing devices in at least one selected spectral band. Each of the plurality of image capturing devices is trained on the flame from the combustion process from a different perspective view angle. A spectral path length of the flame in the at least one spectral band is estimated from the captured images. Emitted radiance of the flame is estimated from the captured images, and a temperature of the flame is estimated from the estimated emitted radiance. A gas species concentration of the flame is estimated from the temperature of the flame and the spectral path length of the flame. Emission for the flame is measured from the gas species concentration.

  • Publication number: 20170200108
Abstract: Logistical operations (e.g., warehouses) may use a voice-enabled workflow to facilitate the work tasks of a staff (i.e., population) of workers. Typically, it is necessary for a worker to travel from location-to-location to complete assigned work tasks. As such, a worker's time spent travelling often correlates with the worker's overall work performance. Understanding the worker's travel performance is highly desirable, but computing a fair and accurate travel-performance metric is difficult. One reason for this is that the distance a worker travels is often unknown. The present invention embraces a system and method for accurately and fairly assessing a worker's travel performance by analyzing the worker's voice dialog.

  • Patent number: 9332191
Abstract: A method, system and computer-usable medium for determining shutter fluttering sequence. The disclosed approach is based on the use of shutter flutter technology, which means that an image can be acquired in such a manner as to encode all information about the moving subject. The disclosed approach involves determining a shutter's fluttering pattern that optimally encodes information at all frequencies. The disclosed approach involves an optimization method for finding a shutter fluttering pattern that has several desired properties. These properties can be expressed in the context of a fitness function: given a fluttering pattern and the target subject's velocity, it produces the equivalent Modulation Transfer Function (MTF), measures three attributes, and produces a fitness score. These attributes are the minimum contrast, the variance in contrast across spatial frequencies, and the mean contrast.
