Abstract: A method of decorating an article of manufacture, e.g. a jewelry item, watch casing or a mobile phone, including the steps of (a) providing the article with a substrate made of a metal or metal alloy and having a number of recesses; (b) providing a number of engagement members made of the same metal or metal alloy; (c) positioning at least part of the engagement member within the recess; (d) fixedly engaging the engagement members with the substrate by laser beam welding or cold welding; and (e) fixedly engaging a decorative element with the engagement member in a snap-fit manner.

Abstract: An expansible band (10) is disclosed as including a first band part (P), a second band part (Q1, Q2) and a third band part (R), each of the band parts including a number of inter-engaged link members (14A, 14B), in which each of the band parts (P, Q1, Q2, R) is movable between an expanded configuration and a stable contracted configuration, and the first band part (P) is releasably engaged with the second band part (Q1, Q2), and the second band part (Q1, Q2) is releasably engaged with the third band part (R).

Abstract: There is disclosed a link for forming a band, the link being formed of an outer casing formed of a plate made of titanium or stainless steel, and an inner part made of aluminum, zinc, an aluminum alloy comprising at least 90 wt. % of aluminum, or a zinc alloy comprising at least 90 wt. % of zinc. There is also disclosed a band made of such links inter-engaged with one another.
