  • Publication number: 20240136217
Abstract: A manufacturing system includes a substrate disposed on a conveyer system. The conveyer system includes a pair of side supports. The substrate is moved on the conveyer system until the substrate is disposed over a bottom support block. The bottom support block is raised to physically contact the substrate. A transfer arm module is provided. The transfer arm module includes a flat bottom surface and an opening formed in the flat bottom surface. The transfer arm module is disposed with the flat bottom surface physically contacting the substrate opposite the bottom support block. A vacuum is enabled through the opening of the transfer arm module. The substrate is lifted off the bottom support block using the vacuum. The substrate is moved over a printing pallet using the transfer arm module. The vacuum is disabled when the substrate is in a positioning area of the printing pallet.

  • Patent number: 7990353
Abstract: A method is provided for compensating for output nonuniformity on a display. The method comprises characterizing the display. The method further includes creating a set of data tables wherein one table provides data for compensation along vertical axes of the display and a second table provided data for compensation along horizontal axes of the display, and wherein components of the tables include a linear offset factor to correct data for nonuniformity and a slope factor which permits gray scale information to be recovered at points near the limits of the gray scale range. The characterizing step may include using a optical detector to obtain optical output information from the display. The slope factor may be calculated to preserve top end gray scale range of the display by adjusting luminous output so that input data level maps to separate output grey levels between a truncated and an untruncated level.

  • Patent number: 6151011
Abstract: A system and method for reducing the phase difference between adjacent gray scale values employ compound data words. The compound data words include a first group of data bits and a second group of data bits. A display driver circuit is configured to provide display control signals causing each bit of the first group of data bits to be asserted on the display pixel for a coequal time period, and causing each bit of the second group of data bits to be asserted on the display pixel for a time period dependent on an associated significance of each bit. Optionally, the display driver circuit further includes a compound data generator configured to provide the compound data words. A method for asserting a compound data word on a display pixel includes the steps of asserting each bit of the first group of bits on the display pixel for a coequal time period, and asserting each bit of the second group of bits on the display pixel for a time period dependent on an associated significance of each bit.

  • Patent number: 6121948
Abstract: A method for writing data to a display, wherein logical segments (groups of rows) are dynamically redefined to displace the intersegment boundaries and delocalize inter-pixel electrical fields occurring across the intersegment boundaries. One particular method includes the steps of grouping rows of a display to define the logical segments, writing data to at least one of the logical segments, writing a predefined value to each of the logical segments, regrouping the rows of the display to redefine the logical segments, and writing data to at least one of the redefined segments. Code contained in an electronically readable medium, for example a memory device, causes a display driver circuit to write data to a display in accordance with the described methods.

  • Patent number: 5815043
Abstract: An improved ring oscillator in which frequency drift is controlled to provide reasonable accuracy is disclosed. The improved ring oscillator eliminates the frequency drift due processing variances. The ring oscillator provided by the invention incurs substantially less frequency drift than a conventional ring oscillator, but the frequency of the ring oscillator is still dependent on temperature and voltage changes. The improved ring oscillator according to the invention is particularly suited for operating as a localized oscillator that is used to facilitate periodic refreshing of DRAM within a computer.

  • Patent number: 5623677
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing the power consumption of a processor in a computer system where a programming structure running on the processor determines when the processor is in an inactive state to cause clocking signals and the power supply to be disabled to the processor. The processor is again coupled to the power supply and the clock signals in response to a periodic interrupt signal, a non-periodic interrupt or a bus request from a peripheral device. Thereafter, the programming structure signals the control logic again when the processor reenters the inactive state, such that the control logic disables the clock signals and decouples the power supply to the processor when the processor returns to the inactive state. The method is extended to offer the ability to shut down the processor from programming structures running on alternate masters or subsystem controllers within the same system.
